Hot Texas wind burns my face

I hustle out of the bus with my suitcase

the man with the smokey bear hat

stares in my face stern and tough

my eyes straight, feet firmly in place

thoughts race through my mind

but from this place no escape,

I have signed the dotted line,

I have raised my hand in pledge,

I was assured by my recruiter

that I have nothing to dread

now the sweat from my face

pours down on the ground

glancing around

no friendly face to be found

can I make it

complete these weeks

or will this be my big defeat?
