Ladies, What Does Your Hair Say About You?

lalala
Other than our clothes, the number one thing that people see is your hair. It is the semi-permanent fashion choice that individuals can make and sometimes it can give off the wrong impression - dread locks, aphros, mohawks, mullets... get my drift?

Men have fewer choices in hair length, style and cut but women seem to have a endless number of choices from the buzz-cut short, the butt-length long, frizz-o curls and Cher-style straight. We can also go for the puffy Texas pageants, or helmet head. With so many fashion statements, we have to wonder, what impression does our hair leave? What do people think of us based on our appearances alone?

Curly vs. Straight Hair:

Curly hair is playful, flirtatious and considered more natural. It can also give the impression of a fuller head of hair, and youthfulness. Straight hair is only considered normal for certain regions of Asia. Straight, sleek hair can look more polished and more professional.

Red head:

Only 3% of people are natural red heads. They are fiery women, wild and wiley! They often conjure the image of Irish Tough Girls and femme fatales. They are most definitely sexy. They are the compromise between ditzy blonde and brooding brunette. Their hair can have a certain amount of dimension that Brunettes often lack, but don't have the stereotypes attached to blondes.

Brunette:

Dark hair is deep and earthy. They give the impression of "natural". Most people are natural brunettes. They often look stead fast, witty and professional. Most intellectuals opt for this low-maintenance color. It gives the impression that you're not trying too hard.

Blonde:

Do blondes really have more fun? Maybe. But there are negative stereotypes to being a unnatural blonde. Think blonde hair, dark roots - tacky. If someone wants to look professional and credible, I would advise looking for a natural color. Natural blondes don't need to worry, as their coloring probably works for it, but brunettes who decide to reach for the peroxide might instantly lose credibility and look vain. There are always exceptions to the rule, but in general, fake blondes never look good.

Long:

Long hair is decidedly flirty and feminine. It's often considered better looking on most girls. It also is less controversial for women. It can also give off the impression of high-maintenance. However, long, unkempt hair can look terrible and sloppy. It must be kept daily or else it can have the opposite effect.

Short:

Short hair is trendy, cutting edge and possibly un-feminine. It can be the symbol of a woman who is independent and doesn't need anyone's approval. However, short buzz cut or pixie cut hair styles can call into question a woman's sexuality. However short hair can also bring more emphasis to a woman's facial features, as opposed to detracting from a woman's natural beauty. It can also show of a slender neck, and petite frame. Think Audrey Hepburn in Sabrina.
