Ladies and Gentlemen: P V Ariel!

Donald Pennington
P V Ariel
Date of Interview: 03/21/2008
DP: Please tell us a little about yourself; who you are, where you're from, etc.,:

I am Philip Verghese 'Ariel' from Andhra Pradesh, India. Andhra Pradesh is located at the southern side of India. I am basically from Kerala, yet another southern State in India. I am presently working in a private organization as an Editor in its publication division. Philip Verghese is my original name, and Ariel is my nom deplume. I am a freelance writer, who contributes to the print and web media.

DP: What type of personality type would you say you are?

I am very well aware that I am a jovial and very encouraging type. At the same time a bit shy, too. Also, I am a very soft cornered person. Some of my friends say your soft cornered nature will land you in trouble, many a time I proved that it is false.

DP: Please share with us a story about your favorite pet.

I am so sorry, here at present I don't have any pet. In my young age we used to keep cats, at home. Yes there is an interesting and touching incident which I encountered in my young age I would like to share. Your question pulled me back to my childhood: I caught a small Myna trapped in a thicket in my compound. I picked up the bird and planned to keep it in a cage, but my Papa (Dad) insisted that I let it go, so I reluctantly agreed and freed the bird, making my father very happy. I still remember the pleasant face of my Dad at that moment. That time on I said goodbye to pets, especially to birds. But I adore and like to watch birds, this is one of my favorite pastime. With all humbleness I would like to add a small advice to my fellow writers and my dear readers, the one who keep birds as their pets in cages: dear readers, it's high time that we leave them alone, let these endangered species enjoy their life in the air with whole of their freedom. We all should keep this in mind that these poor species should be saved from this brutality.

DP: What do you like to read?

I am a voracious reader; from the beginning (I mean when learned or began to read) I used to read whatever comes to my hand. Now I am very selective and I give first priority to The Bible, then Bible-related articles and poems, and then comes the human interest stories, politics, and then the recipes especially the Chinese and South Indian vegetarian recipes. I also read the editorials of at least three newspapers in India. Now the Internet age has come and I spread my wings to the net world to read more papers even some international ones including the New York Times, Herald Tribune, Christian Science Monitor, etc.

DP: What was/is your favorite subject in school?

My favorite subject was English, and then Social Science and History.

DP: What's the worst day of your life thus far?

The day I lost my Father

DP: What was the best day of your life thus far?

The Day I accepted Jesus Christ as my Personal Savior and Lord.

DP: What would you call the 'dream vacation?'

My dream vacation is to visit the land of Kiwis, this is yet to be fulfilled, I am longing for that.

DP: If you could really truly get just ONE thing that you wish for; what would it be?

I wish to be a known as a well known and an established writer, as well as to be known as an apostle of peace, a true follower of Jesus Christ.

DP: What is your earliest memory? Please describe.

The day I got my name Ariel and later it became my nom de plume.

DP: First word to pop into your mind please; what do you think of when I say: 'power?' Be honest.

Great and wonderful movement or freedom.

DP: How long have you been writing?

Since my young age-I have been writing for 37 years.

DP: If you could improve AC in any one way; what would it be?

I don't think I have to add more here. At present they are doing a wonderful job; expect the bit discrimination towards the writers other than US ones. Yes they must give a second thought and should consider this little more seriously and do something about it. Partiality is not a good word, and it will not fit especially in the media.

DP: What made you choose AC?

Really speaking the way it presents the things made me to choose AC. It's home page attracted me at my first sight. To tell you the truth now I am bit addicted to AC.

DP: Which genre do you prefer to work in?:

I prefer to work in with the human interest genre as well as the spiritual topics. Recipes, and short stories and news reports.

DP: Tell us some of your best AC titles please:

My best AC writings: First priority goes to my opening account in AC that is:

www.associatedcontent.com/article/542081/lets_not_despise_the_word_of_god_.html
www.associatedcontent.com/article/634313/honor_your_father_and_mother.html

www.associatedcontent.com/article/559151/oh_death_youre_defeated.html
www.associatedcontent.com/article/554777/let_us_celebrate_his_jesus_christs.html

DP: What do you want your legacy to be?

I would like to be known as an established writer and people would say that there was a man lived with some great talents and he very strictly followed to his words, what he writes or what he says, this should be the legacy I wanted to leave behind me for the generation.

DP: You kept your word with me! Thank you.
