Nobody wants to be told what to wear these days. It causes embarrassment. Well we shouldn't embarrass ourselves attracting humiliating attention to ourselves.
With the younger crowd, it is may be cute to wear athletic shorts or pants with writing across the bedonk-a donk. As we get older, the bedonk-a-donk does not need more attention drawn to it with the words "Booty-licious" written across the back of it. Let's throw out those shorts and bring in something without the words!
Please stop wearing prints all over your body. Maybe at one point in time, going out looking like a zebra or tiger may have meant something. Today, going out dressed in a zebra top with matching zebra bottoms may land you in a cage in the zoo. ! There are ways around this. If you love to wear animal prints, just don't wear them all over your body. Buy a shawl, or a skirt and that will be perfect. Don't go overboard and cover your body in prints. It's just not in.
Halter Tops should never be worn if you are over your 40s either. Opt for a nice tank top instead. You will get more attention in a tank top. If you go out in that halter, you can be sure you will see people in hysterics laughing at your expense.
Next we have leggings. In my opinion, leggings do not replace pants. Try going for a nice pair of casual pants, but please don't replace the pants with leggings. Also, definitely do not throw on aerobic socks over those leggings if you must wear them and high top, two-strapped Reebok's. We are in a new millennium ladies, let's upgrade to some Asics and some no-show socks!
If you have large items you need to haul around, please do not choose to carry them in a backpack. Leave the backpacks to teens in high school or people involved in athletics. Try to purchase a tote. They come in different colors and all kinds of sizes. The Gap has some great selections for totes and they are much more stylish!
Ladies, if you are over your 40s, ditch the string bikini. No need for the rest of America to see all of you. Leave that for your significant other in the bedroom.
.
Let's commit to cleaning out our closets this fall and really updating our wardrobes with class! Ladies, don't subject to committing these fashion crimes. Just because you have it, doesn't mean you have to flaunt it. There is a time and a place and it definitely is not on the streets. Some things just don't look good on us when we get older.

Post a CommentWonderful article because it's true that some things are just not appropriate anymore and seeing a woman in her 40s wearing a string bikini is saying she's not ready to grow up yet. If you watch What Not To Wear the two hosts on the show need to re-examine their fashion sense too since both of them are turning 40 within a few months of each other and some of what they wear is more appropriate for late teens and throughout your 20s up to your early 30s after that it's time to retire the clothes. People have a problem with dressing age appropriately.
