Lady Antebellum - Country Music's Next Super Group

This Nashville Trio is Taking the Country Music World by Storm

The new Country Music Super group is called Lady Antebellum. They were formed in Nashville back in 2006 by a couple of friends and a chance meeting in a music industry function. The group is composed of Charles Kelley, Dave Haywood, and Hillary Scott. They are all extremely talented and have a great mixture of voices.

Lady Antebellum, also known as Lady A by their fans, is definitely on the rise the past year. They were awarded the prestigious Top New Duo or Group by the Academy of Country Music and also the New Artist of the Year by the Country Music Association. To top that off they were nominated for not one, but two Grammy Awards.

It seems that since they formed everything has been on the rise and they expect only better things to come. They are hoping for the award for the Top Vocal Group at this year's Academy of Country Music Awards show. I wouldn't bet against them as they are growing a fan base like no one else in show business at the moment.

The whole country, no, the whole world is tuning in to hear this dynamic trio. They have been the talk of the town in Nashville for quite a while but now with their debut album coming out back in April of 2008, there seems to be no limit to their fame. With the lead vocalist Charles Kelley singing with his sultry voice and Hilary Scott and Dave Haywood's smooth harmonies you get a fresh new sound that Nashville hasn't heard before. It's soulful but smooth, harmonic but danceable. Hit makers is what the industry insiders call them.

Lady A's popularity will only grow bigger as they are performing their recent No. 1 hit "I Run to You" on the ACM Awards show. Thousands of fans wrote in and demanded that Lady A perform and CBS Television answered their pleas.

Their debut album, Lady Antebellum, has just recently gone gold. That means that 500,000 copies have been sold in the United States and it also means that you are one of the true artists in your field. When it was release on April 15, 2008 its lead-off single, "Love Don't Live Here" went to Number 5 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. The second single, "Lookin' for a Good Time", was released in June of 2008 and peaked at Number 11.

That just set in motion the momentum for the third single, "I Run to You", that was just release this past January. The album debuted at Number 1 on the Billboard Country Album Charts and at Number 4 on the overall Billboard Top 200 Charts. Never in the history of Country Music has a new duo or group debuted at Number 1 in its first week, but Lady Antebellum is special.
