1 Corinthians 7:14
"The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does."
It is a sad truth that many wives and husbands choose to punish one another by withholding sex. What many do not realize is that this frequent practice leads to a breakdown in other areas and adds to the issue that led them to withhold sex in the first place.
Did you know that withholding your body from your husband (or wife - which is less frequent) helps to cause a breakdown in society? Think on this: a man who is constantly deprived will seek satisfaction elsewhere (a man needs a woman); which could lead to divorce, a broken family and wounded children who grow up to be angry and bitter; hence harming society instead of helping to build it up. Wow! Did you think of that?
Please do not misunderstand me. I am not saying that a man (or woman) who is deprived should use that as an excuse to cheat. However, I am saying that being deprived heightens the temptation to cheat.
If you are a Christian woman (or man), then I am using God's Word to appeal directly to you. Read the following verse:
1 Corinthians 7:5
"Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control."
Did you get that? Not only is your body not yours, there should be an agreement between you and your spouse if you will not make love for a "short" season.
Your body is not yours. Please stop using it as a weapon. The bedroom should remain sacred and free from all the mess that you deal with outside. Let us resolve our problems before bedtime, and then go enjoy our body that our spouse is holding for us. Sweet!
