Lady Gaga Gets More Acting Experience with Gossip Girl
Gossip Girl is one of the most popular television shows on the air today, based on the books by author Cecily von Ziegesar. The show focuses on rich and often spoiled teenagers who live on the Upper East Side of New York City. Twenty two year old actress Blake Lively, who plays Serena van der Woodsen, is one of the main stars. Fans are curious to know how Lady Gaga will fit into Gossip Girl and how she will fair with Serena van der Woodsen or how she will fair with Blair Waldorf who is played by 23 year old Leighton Meester.
Lady Gaga has had other acting spots besides her latest gig on Gossip Girl. Fans got to see her not only sing but also act on Saturday Night Life. Many critics felt the star showed strong acting chops. Some singers begin in front of a microphone, but eventually move to other avenues in addition to singing. One such singer is Justin Timberlake. Justin began in the boy band 'N Sync, moved on to putting out a solo album and now has been seen in such films as Alpha Dog and Black Snake Moan.
What will Lady Gaga do on Gossip Girl? Mum is the word so far. Will she act as one of the rich teenagers and leave her singing for another time? Since Lady Gaga is playing herself, that scenario seems unlikely. The most likely scenario for Lady Gaga on Gossip Girl will be that she does a bit of acting and a bit of singing. Perhaps Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf, who are sometimes rivals, will share a common goal in wanting to see Lady Gaga perform.
The appearance of Lady Gaga on Gossip Girl is likely to bring viewers to the show. Although the show has been criticized for being inappropriate for teenagers, the show continues to get fans that are drawn in by the wealth and beauty of the Manhattan teenage elite. It is also a show that provides an escape for teenagers who don't live that life.
