Lady Gaga Costume Ideas for Halloween

Halloween is quickly approaching. And while it's still around two months away, you want to make sure you have ample time to design a fabulous costume. One of the hottest singers this year is Lady Gaga. And being one of the hottest singers means there will be a lot of people dressing like her for Halloween. Here are couple tips to help you design a fantastic Lady Gaga costume.

1. It's all in the hair

Here's the most important piece of your costume. You'll need blond hair, or the costume just won't be quite right. If you have naturally blond hair, great. But for the rest of us, we'll have to get a wig. Now, you can find a wig almost anywhere, but I highly recommend getting one from at least a Halloween shop. They tend to be a little bit higher quality, and stores usually have more variety so you'll find what you are looking for.

The blonder the wig, the better. And it should preferably have bangs that are stick straight. You want to make sure the wig doesn't curl, as straight hair is Lady's signature look.

Once you get the wig, or if you are blessed with blond hair yourself, you'll have to style it. You can always go with just the straight look, but oftentimes she has something in it, such as a bow or a bump or something like that. If the wig is long, you can cut the hair to make a bow out of the excess hair. A little creepy, but it will look cool, I promise. All you have to do is tie the hair into a bow and use some spray glue to get it to stick. I used spray glue for a Marie Antoinette costume last year, and it worked great.

2. You've gotta have shades

The next most important thing is to make sure you have dark, movie star shades. The bigger the better. If you can find a pair with sequins on them, awesome. I would personally check a Halloween shop first, but if you don't have what you want, check a store like Vanity. They often have sunglasses that can sometimes be over the top. Exactly what you need for this costume.

3. It's all in the details

Once you've got those two things in place, it's really all about the details. Since Lady Gaga changes her costumes up so much, it's kind of up to you as to where you want to go with it. More than likely it's going to have to be skimpy and a little outlandish. Short shorts with tights are always a good idea. But make sure you have heels to go with that outfit. Otherwise, shiny leather outfits can always work as well. Throw on a little red lipstick, bright eye makeup and some glitter, and you are good to go!
