Lady GaGa is Defining Pop Music

Bee Colyer
Love her or hate her, Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, better known as Lady GaGa, is causing a lot of people to redefine the way they see pop music. Standing barely over five feet tall, Lady GaGa has broken the bubble gum, pop star mold.

Lady GaGa herself says, "I always loved rock and pop and theater." On her own goals she says, "It's about the performance, the attitude, the look; it's everything. And, that is where I live as an artist and that is what I want to accomplish." "God of the music genre and fashion revolution she's creating" is how user forum poster mmmDanny, describes her on Lady GaGa's own message board.

Mostly compared to Madonna, Lady GaGa herself was inspired by David Bowie and Queen at an early age and is now influencing others. Paris Hilton, Eva Longoria and even Madonna herself have all admitted to be channeling their own inner Lady GaGa. Beyonce's newest music video Video Phone has a cameo by Lady GaGa. The Lady even has her own headphones in the Beats by Dr. Dre line of headphones.

If you can't figure out what exactly to think of this budding young artist you are not alone. Even rapper Eminem looked a little confused when asked by the Lady to hold her award after presenting to her at this years MTV Video Music Awards. There is even an i hate lady gaga group on Facebook. With only 6,184 members I will assume that number is declining and joining the millions of people who have already made up their own minds about her.

While fans are awaiting the release of The Fame Monster in November, her newest single Bad Romance should hold them over. The two disc set will include the original release of The Fame album along with eight new songs. She also is set to embark on The Monster Ball Tour November 27th with twenty two shows spanning the US and Canada.

Lady GaGa warns fans, "You have exactly 96 hours to learn all of the lyrics so you can sing along. Dress accordingly."

There probably is no point in speculating over what the future may hold for this queen of pop; chances are she will create her own future.
