The buzz about Lady Gaga making a fashion statement by having one of her legs amputated at the knee has been confirmed. Confirmed as pure fiction, that is. Rest assured, the pop star still has both legs intact. The Daily Squib reported that Lady Gaga "astounded fans and TV audiences Friday when she announced that she has had one of her legs amputated below the knee purely for fashion purposes."
Born March 28, 1986 as Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, Lady Gaga was inspired by musicians such as Madonna, Michael Jackson, Freddie Mercury and David Bowie.
Although her reputation as a female shock pop star remains intact, amputating a limb for purely fashonista reasons is, in my humble opinion, even too far out for her. When I read the 'news' I realized, when it comes to popular personalities, we can't always believe what we read.
Of course, sometimes we can.
Gaga a True Diva
News of her American Idol performance on May 5,2010 is confirmed as fact. According to Hollyscoop, Lady Gaga has pre-recorded segments which include performances of "Bad Romance" and "Alejandro." This won't be her first performance on AI as she took the stage with her hit song "Just Dance" two seasons ago. This time she's more popular than ever and, in order to appear on the show, demanded $250,000. Apparently a deal was made and her performance has been confirmed. Sources say her outfit alone (which is rumored to include black fishnet) will most likely shock a lot of the family-friendly audience of American Idol. It makes this AI fan wonder why she's been asked to be a part of the show when there are many popular vocalists who 'fit' the show's image better. Like any true fan, I'll tune in on May 5th, not to see Lady Gaga's performance, but to see another American Idol episode and hoping my favorite Idol hopeful makes the cut.
Credible Sources?
What it all boils down to, when separating fact from fiction, is: How credible are your sources? If you're a reader of The Daily Squib, you know it doesn't take long to see that this website is for purely entertainment purposes. Hollyscoop, on the other hand, while admittedly filled with the latest news and gossip around Hollywood, makes every effort to report the truth. So, whether you want to have a laugh or the latest on your favorite entertainer, the choice is up to you.
Fact versus fiction. When it comes to the entertainment world-and to the Internet-you can't always believe what you hear.
