Lady GaGa -- Mainstream Musical Theatre

Pamela Rocket
I love Lady Gaga. Growing up, I was a total theatre geek, so that may have something to do with my Gaga obsession. She is true performance art. It is mainstream musical theatre and I'm in love. Keep it coming.

My first taste of GaGa was last year when I saw her open for New Kids On The Block. I distinctly remember thinking, "Wow, this is an insane stage show for an opener!"

I absolutely adore the costumes and theatrics during her live performances. I look forward to each new mask she will appear in. I wonder what her hair and make-up will be like. GaGa is an amazing artist. When she plays the piano-it is true passion. To top it off, she has a superstar voice and range that truly deserves this elaborate show.

Oh guys! Get this: GaGa actually performs her vocals live [even while dancing]. She is something different-not just another talentless, pop image that we have been sold. She deserves all 'The Fame' she gets. By the way, I also love the fact that she does like 13 costume changes per award show.

Lady Gaga truly paid her dues and this reveals a lot about her character. She spent years performing in clubs and venues all over New York City before she had her big break. In the pop world these days, that seems to almost never be the case.

After writing songs for groups like, The Pussycat Dolls, it's about time Gaga got some attention. If you focus on her lyrics, you will see they are darker and deeper than the ones you hear in every day pop music. I love it. She writes pure, emotional poetry then intertwines it perfectly with pop music.

Lady Gaga is also good to her fans and that can make or break a celebrity. On November 23 [the same day The Fame Monster was released] Gaga posted this on her Twitter page:

"Sending all my little monsters little pizzas for waiting all night for me at best buy. I hope you're hungry...eat up I love u!"

By this tweet, Lady Gaga meant she had sent pizza to fans waiting all night at a Best Buy for a signing with her. Now that's a true superstar.
