Lady Gaga to Release "Blood and Semen" Scented Perfume?

If causing controversy with her videos, comments on drug use and the now infamous meat dress weren't enough, Lady Gaga may be set to excel herself in the crazy stakes with her latest invention. A few months ago, it was announced that the "Poker Face" singer will be launching her own fragrance with Coty. It was initially planned to be an "unusual" scent, but news broke today about just how weird it could be. According to reports, Lady Gaga wants her fragrance to smell of "blood and semen".

In October last year, it was believed that the Grammy award winner was preparing to get a start on creating her fragrance and had trademarked the name "Monster" for her scent. Coty - one of the industry's best known beauty companies - have been responsible for branding and marketing perfumes from some of the world's biggest stars including Celine Dion, David and Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Lopez and Sarah Jessica Parker.

While Gaga fits in well with such stars, her fragrance may be set to be as freaky as the alleged scent name. Fans of the singer will know that gaga calls her supporters her little monsters, so perhaps the name is a tribute to the people who have believed in her.

The question is, will her millions of fans be interested in purchasing a perfume which reeks of bodily fluids? Granted, there might be those who buy it purely out of curiosity. But as a genuine "must have" fragrance, it might be a step too far even for her most loyal worshippers. Does anyone really want to leave the house smelling of blood and semen?

If the idea of Lady Gaga's new perfume intrigues you, take a deep breath and relax. Whatever the scent eventually becomes, it will not be released until Spring 2012.
