Lake Minden RV Resort Nicolaus, California

Membership Park That's Open All Year Round

Kathy Anderson
Lake Minden RV Resort in Nicolaus, California is open year round. And yes, it's located in the grassy plains of Sacramento, CA. We spent one night in this park heading south to Southern California and Arizona in December looking for warmer weather.

This park was a nice surprise. It was grassy as the ads say and it was clean and open but yet had nice trees and very nice wide sites. There were only a few campers there and one was even in a tent. The road in and around the park was wide, smooth and well maintained. We had no problem parking our 40' motorhome. The check in is right off the road and you're given a map to get to the gate and sites. Seems like I remember the park being a good distance from the check-in office.

When we were there we didn't get full hook-ups because they were working on the sewer connections at the time. They do have 37 full hook-up sites, though. All nice and grassy sites. Not a lot of bushes or brush but lots of nice trees. I recommend this park for it's cleanliness and because it's so well maintained. It has a very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

The park offers year round fishing and I guess you can catch lots of cat fish. Historical Sutter County is nearby and everyone's favorite thing to do. We weren't there long enough to take in fishing or sightseeing but would love to go back and do so. We love museums and learning about the beautiful USA. After all, Sacramento is the capital of California. If you get a chance to stay at this park for any length of time don't miss the railroad museum and all the historical info on the gold rush era.

About the park. On site there's fishing, as I mentioned, right from their own docks, they have boating, volleyball, a driving range, softball field, table games and you can always take in the rays while sitting on the beach! They even have their own little country store on site complete with a snack bar! Wish we had had more time to walk their nature trails. Like other parks, they have laundry facilities, a children's play area, a picnic area with BBQ grills and a little wading beach. Wifi is available in the adult lodge.

Quiet time is between 11pm and 8am. Peak season is Memorial Day to Labor Day. This is a membership park but you could call and find out if it's open to the public. Many are. Reservations are required for RV sites and rental units. Reservations may be made up to 90 days in advance through the RPI Central Reservation Office. Rentals require a two night stay minimum. During major holiday weekends, no reservations are accepted. A $32 no-show fee applies unless RV reservations are canceled within 24 hours in advance. And for rentals a 7 day notice is necessary for cancellations.

RV sites:

They have 37 full hook-up sites, 113 partial and 161 dry. Maximum length is 40' and 30amp only. There's water at all sites and sewer at some. The rental accommodations are as follows:

29-35 foot trailers which sleep 6 run $30-55 a night.

Check in is at 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and check out is at noon.

If you're there for any length of time and need to receive mail, you have to use General Delivery at the Nicolaus post office.
