Lakeside Park in Pittsburg, Kansas: A Piece of Serenity Amidst Chaos

Lakeside Park
Neighborhood: Pittsburg
Pittsburg, KS 66762
United States of America
Lakeside Park is, what some would call, a break from the norm. The peacefulness of the area is absolutely serene. Whether you are a kid or have a kid(s), Lakeside is the best spot to come.

Unlike other parks, Lakeside offers more than just playground equipment to play on. Lakeside also offers a "lake" right in the middle with two large fountains in the center. That's not all though. Lakeside's "lake" is also full of numerous water fowl from geese to ducks. As well, the "lake" is also regularly stocked with fish and also has turtles that you can occasionally see popping up to the surface from time to time.

The wild life in this park is undoubtedly the drawing point of the park to its many visitors. Anytime of day one can drive by and see everyone from adults to little kids feeding the ducks and geese or some little kid chasing after a squirrel or some other form of wild life.

The park also offers a pathway around the "lake" for anyone who would just like to take a stroll around the park. Along with picnic tables and shelter houses, benches, and even a tennis court, Lakeside has all of the best features wrapped into one.

The most astonishing part, in this writers opinion, is that this beautifully serene park is right in the middle of the city of Pittsburg, KS and not out in the country where you would normally find this type if attraction. The fact is, when sitting in the park, one can honestly and truthfully forget they are in the middle of a city.
