I have been using high end salon quality treatments to fix the hair, and it has been working really well for me. This was how I came across Laminates Masque Reconstructive Shine Treatment by Sebastian. I was simply looking to add a new treatment to my routine, and this was the first one that also promised to add shine, as well as treat the hair. The way that the tube was colored, it gave me the impression that I would have a nice mirror finish. Not only that Sebastian has always been a really great hair care company.
I wanted to really push this one to the limit, so I wet my hair and applied a more than generous amount of the masque. Then placed a plastic bag over my head and let it sit for about 20 minutes before rinsing it out.
The Scent:
Before getting into the results of Laminates Masque Reconstructive Shine Treatment by Sebastian, I wanted to mention the scent. This masque smells lovely almost like a dreary moist day, with a nice musky like feeling. I liked it a lot, but once the formula was rinsed, the scent vanished along with the formula.
The Formula:
Laminates Masque Reconstructive Shine Treatment by Sebastian, was actually semi runny in consistency which worried me, because for my thick hair type, I know from past history that thicker masques penetrate the hair more deeply, leaving behind better results.
I worried that this one was too runny in texture to really work wonders for my hair type. It has the same type of consistency as a cheap conditioner.
Results:
I was mad I spent $8.00 on this one. It did not do a thing. My hair felt absolutely the same, and there was not even a hint of added shine. I was really hoping for excellent results considering how long I let the formula sit in my hair.
I feel that I could have had better results leaving a cheap conditioner in my hair for 20 minutes. In fact I can pretty much guarantee a cheap conditioner would have worked better.
Overall:
I would skip this one entirely. If you are expecting major shine, and major reconstructive results to your hair, I wouldn't even bother with this one.
