Lancome Claim: 7 Days to Visibly Younger Skin with Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate

Are They Correct?

Susan Slade
In one of the 'free stuff/sample' emails I received, I was able to print off a coupon for a 7 day supply of Lancome Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate.

I headed up to Gulf View Square Mall, and to the Lancome counter, of Dillard's. The assistant had a display of this new product, and asked for my name, and telephone number, so that she could follow up, after my 7 day trial.

I received a cardboard folder with a picture of the product, and some details on the front. When she opened it up, there were 7 sachets of the Lancome Genifique, each slotted into a corresponding days use.

She asked me if I knew how to use it, and I didn't know. She applied a small amount, from a bottle, to the top of my left hand. It went in very easily and dried quickly. She told me that my skin would be a more even tone.

I asked her how much was the bottle that she was using, and the .67 fluid ounce is $58, 1.0 fluid ounce $78, and the 1.7 fluid ounce $98. I really wanted it to work, but figured it to be a lot of money.

I checked on the brochure that I had, and it states to use one packet per day, half in the a.m. and half in the p.m. This is to be used on clean skin, and before using a moisturizer.

So that night I cleansed my skin, and then took out the first sachet. I cut the top off, and gave it a gentle squeeze. Out came a clear liquid, which was thicker than water, but runny. It had a light fragrance to it, which was pleasant.

I put the liquid onto the tips of my fingers, and applied it to all of my face, and my neck area. It went into my skin quickly, and was dry in about a minute. I looked at my skin and didn't see any improvement with one application. I then used my night cream, but didn't use an anti-aging/anti-wrinkle one.

The following morning I washed my face, and squeezed the sachet again. I applied the liquid to my face and neck area. I was amazed because I still had some left in the sachet.

It is now 10 days after I started using the Lancome Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate. Yes, because I got 3 applications from each sachet it did me a full 10 days.

This is what Lancome says about it's product:

"Our first skincare that boosts the activity of genes and stimulates the production of youth proteins. A true skincare innovation with 7 worldwide patents pending, Génifique is the foundation of every woman's skincare at any age or for any skin concern.

Today, for every woman, Lancome creates our 1st Youth Activator - GENIFIQUE. See visibly younger skin in just 7 days. Drop by drop, skin is infused with life. Vibrant with youth, skin looks as if lit from within - breathtakingly radiant. Skin's youthful quality returns: cushiony soft and velvety to the touch. Skin's tone is astonishingly even; its texture dramatically refined."

So when I looked in the mirror after 3 days, I didn't notice any difference. After 7 days my face did feel really moist, and possibly softer. Today, after 10 days, I looked at my age spots, and they are still there. Yes, I probably was expecting a miracle, and if I had paid almost $100 for the largest bottle, I would have wanted to see a miracle.

In their study 85% were 'Perfectly luminous, 82% Astonishingly even, 91% Cushiony soft, and 82% Skin appearance is improved'.

In my personal study, my skin was slightly softer, perhaps a little more even, but that was it. My skin has never been dry, and I think for people that do have dry skin, this could work well for them.

The lady from Dillard's Lancome counter hasn't phoned me to check on the product. When she does, I will be telling her that I plan to keep my money, in my pocket.

Great review Susan, those are hefty price tags for such small containers...but if they were free I too would grab them.

None of these things do what they say - they just put an even bigger hole in your pocket :)
