It would be good to find a theme for your landscaping and to find plants that will look good the whole year. It can be hard to find plants that look good in the winter and fall. You will have to do some research to find plants and trees that will look good in the spring and winter months.
It's important to find trees and plants that will prosper in the climate of your area. There are some plants that will look more attractive in certain months. You should have one or two plants that will be attractive in the winter. The key is to always have attractive plants and trees in the yard year round. You can visit a garden center for advice on the best plants for your lawn. The people at the garden center are knowledgeable and a good resource for questions about flowers. Also, the library is a free resource to get books on flowers and trees for your area. Between these two places, it shouldn't be too hard to find a plant or tree that's suitable for your yard.
Repetition and layering the flowers is a useful tip for someone that's new to landscaping. This will add a theme or balance to the yard with matching plants and flowers. One of my favorite flowers is Knockout roses and these types of roses just need basic care. If you decided to use Knockout roses then you could plant different sets of knockout roses over the yard. Knockout Roses would be really pretty in the spring and still attractive in the winter. Find an inexpensive plant that you can buy a lot of so that the yard will have a layering effect. Moreover, you will need to figure out the type of plants you want and where to place them in the yard. The final result is having a beautiful yard and being able to admire your hard work.
