Sitting on the high plains of Wyoming at 7220 feet, Laramie is home to the University of Wyoming. As the location of the University of Wyoming it is also the home of several exceptional libraries.

1) Albany County Public Library

The Albany County Public Library is open from 8:30 till 6:30, Monday thru Friday. They have numerous events for children throughout the year as well as Story Time on a regular basis throughout the week. The Albany County Public Library also occasionally hosts special events, including book signings, lectures, book club meetings, teas and charity events.

2) American Heritage Center

The American Heritage Center is open from 8 am to 9 pm on Mondays, and from 8 am to 5 pm Tuesday through Friday. The AHC is home to a wide range of collections of Western and Wyoming History related artifacts, first edition books, is home to the University of Wyoming Art Museum and has a wide range of other resources. Numerous events are hosted at the AHC including the Art Gala, Historical Society Events, University of Wyoming Annual Events and is the on campus voting poll location.

3) Coe Library

The University of Wyoming's main library, located next to the student union. This library is open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 am to Midnight, Fridays from 7:30 am till 7:30 pm, Saturdays from 11 am to 5 pm and Sundays form 11 am till Midnight. The library has extended hours during finals week and is only closed on major holidays and during student breaks. Coe Library has a wide range of resources for students and for those associated with the University of Wyoming including Prospector services which allow individuals to check out resource from several other libraries in the area.
