L.A.'s Guide to Gay

My name is Lita...but I go by L.A. This blog was started basically for exposure, one of my English teachers told me about it a long time ago, told me I have potential for young writer, so I thought what the heck. I've always loved blogging, so hopefully, you'll enjoy reading.

I wanted to kick off my blogs about something light-hearted and funny, hoping that I don't offend anyone! I just happen to be gay...and sometimes, straight people can just be super annoying about certain things, so I decided to write a Guide to Gay, sort of my tongue in cheek approach at enlightening you heteros out there. Don't be offended, it's all in good fun. :)

Straight people:

1. When you're invited by some of your gay friends to go out to the gay bar, don't try and "dress gay", because usually, you fail horribly and you aren't "doing us a favor", or giving us a compliment. And you know, if someone of the same-sex truly hit on you, you'd be complaining/bragging on Monday to your co-workers how every gay person there wanted you.

2. Stop saying, "That's Gay." What does that mean anyways?

3. Stop saying "Oh sorry dude, I didn't mean like you gay, I meant like stupid gay", after you say #2 above.

4. Don't freak out when we come out to you, and be worried that we've seen you naked, then later on, ask why we don't find you attractive...

5. To all the dudes...the "gay" girls on Girls Gone Wild aren't real. They are drunk, need money, and want to be on TV.

6. No we won't make out with you, you can't watch, and you aren't going to be the magical man that will "change my mind."

7. All lesbians don't have mullets.

8. There isn't just butch or femme, there is alot of grey area that comes in between.

9. There is a difference between Transgendered and Transsexual.

10. PFLAG stands for Parents and Familes of Lesbians and Gays. It's a national/international support group/cultural initiative project for Gay families, youth, and adults to get involved in.

11. Yes it's true I'm a bad lesbian, I have no idea why the rainbow is significant to us. I'm sorry, so shoot me.

12. Stop assuming every gay person wants you. Let's put it this way, does every straight person you meet want you? Nah. Neither do we, get over your narcissistic self YO!

13. Don't ask someone who is gay and a virgin how they know they are gay if they haven't had sex with the opposite gender. How do straight virgins know they are straight if they haven't been with anyone yet? Just think about it!

14. We don't all like TECHNO.

15. We definitely don't all look like the guys on Queer as Folk, or the girls on the L Word...I wish!

16. You can't always pick us out, some of us are pretty well hidden.

17. It's getting annoying being asked things like ," What do you think about Ellen, or Lance Bass?"

18. We are as shocked about Rosie O'Donnell as you are. lol.

19. We aren't pedophiles.

20. Just because we are gay, does not mean we will raise gay children. Because obviously, all straight parents raise straight children....NOT, lol.
