The store's slogan is "The Best Dollar Store in Las Vegas." It has a wide range of items available and you can "count on" not spending more than a dollar for each one. In addition, I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful.
There are over 120,000 items on hand for one dollar or less. These include: baby items, gift bags, bows and wraps, candles, gift cards, crafts, health and beauty supplies, cleaners, linens, party items and balloons, pet supplies, toys and school supplies. I personally like the canned and packaged food, along with beverages of various sorts.
A rather unique feature of Las Vegas Dollar is a "VIP Shopper Card." Even though you can get tremendous values at the store, even greater discounts can be obtained by purchasing this card for a small amount. A person will obtain a five, ten or fifteen per cent discount for up to one year by getting the card of his or her choice.
The store also has "Manager Specials." Las Vegas Dollar is always researching products people cannot refuse to buy for one dollar. If you visit each week, you will see these special items which are limited to one per customer.
Las Vegas Dollar is senior-friendly and understands those over 65 are people strongly affected by today's economy. They have stocked their store with thousands of senior-specific items, and seniors can also purchase the VIP Shopper Cards at discounts. A similar program, the "CC Teacher Discount Program," exists for teachers within Clark County.
The store also has a special program for youngsters who make good grades in school. As a reward, Las Vegas Dollar will provide one balloon for every "A" and "B" they receive on their report card. Kids are encouraged to start bringing in their report cards and receiving their free balloons. I have seen the selection of latex and Mylar balloons; they are colorful and of excellent quality.
