Las Vegas by Foot - Part 1

Boricua
Las Vegas is an awesome place to visit. The casinos and hotels on the Strip are so elaborate and filled with things to do that it can be hard to decide what to do and how to see everything. There are so many different things to see, so I definitely recommend getting a good look at everything the Strip has to offer before spending more time exploring select places of your choosing. Here is a guide to exploring the Las Vegas Strip on foot. Be prepared to do a lot of walking. It may not look like it, but the Las Vegas Strip is actually four miles long! Add that to all the walking you'll be doing in the different casinos and hotels and you've got quite a workout. There are trams, escalators, and people movers throughout the strip, so you don't have to actually walk the whole way. There are also cabs readily available at all of the hotels if you get tired of walking.

I recommend beginning at the southern end of the Strip at the Mandalay Bay. If you go just a little further past the Mandalay Bay you can see one of the famous Welcome to Las Vegas signs. It's a great photo op! From there head into the Mandalay Bay and check out the Shark Reef exhibit. It's an awesome underwater experience that allows you to see all kinds of sharks up close. From here you can take a tram over to the Luxor.

At the Luxor you have a few more photo ops in front of the Sphinx or next to the pyramid. Then, head up to the Atrium level. This is where you can see a show at the IMAX or check out a fun game. Once you're done exploring, take the tram over to the Excalibur.

This medieval themed casino and hotel has a mote and fire breathing dragon out front. The hotel landscape has plenty of great areas for photo ops. Here you can explore shopping, Sponge Bob Square Pants ride, or the midway. Also, consider returning for dinner at the Tournament of Kings dinner theater. It's a lot of fun for the whole family.

Next, take the escalator over to the New York New York. One of the first things you will notice is the roller coaster. It is a lot of fun and part of the coaster goes into the casino! Also inside, check out Coyote Ugly. Inside you will also find plenty of places for shopping, including Soho Village and Harley Davidson. The exterior of the casino is another great place for photos. Check out the replica of the Statue of Liberty!

By now you may need a break. Check out some of the restaurants inside the hotel. I definitely recommend the Mexican restaurant. Get off your feet for a minute and try to relax in the city that never sleeps. Once you're rested it will be time to continue on down the strip.
