The Stage Door Theater, formerly the Shear Madness theater is currently home to four shows all with tickets at $20 or less. The afford-ability makes it easy to check out all the shows the theater has to offer. The theater is located in Town Square just across from the Yardhouse and Cadillac Ranch restaurants.
Free Beer-the Improv Show plays every Friday and Saturday Night at 10:30pm and features two teams of improv actors performing in a "Whose Line is it Anyway" type show. The scene is set as the two fictional frat houses of the even more fictional College Tech University go head to head in an improv battle for the illustrious "Otto," a decorative beer stein. Throughout the show members of the audience come on stage to play beer pong to decide the games that are played and for the chance to drink some free beer. Other audience members come on stage to join the fun. The two teams compete in a comedy competition and the winner of each round is determined by the audience applause. Because everything is made up on the spot the show is never the same twice. Since the departure of Second City, Las Vegas has been lacking in the improv department. Quench your thirst for local comedy with Free Beer. Tickets are $20 and include the price of your first drink.
The All-You-Can-Improv Jam is every Thursday night at 10:30. The show is a lot like Free Beer except you get to be part of the action if you want. Play improv games with professional improv actors or sit back and watch the show. Its a great way to be entertained while meeting new people. Tickets are $10 and include all the soda you can drink and all the comedy you can take.
Cannibal: The Musical! is the newest, bloodiest, and funniest musical in Las Vegas. This stage show is produced by Insurgo Theater, its the same group, and the same show, that had great success last year in the Onyx theater. The show is playing every Wednesday through Saturday at 8pm from now until September 26th. Written by South Park creator Trey Parker. Its the twisted telling of the true story of Alfred Packer, the only man to ever be convicted of cannibalism. Full of scatological humor and adult language its hilariously gruesome and delightfully entertaining. Tickets are $20 or $15 for students and seniors.
Schoohouse Rock Live! is a fun new daytime theater show for the whole family. Featuring music and lyrics from your favorite School House Rock episodes, this educational and entertaining show is playing at 11am and 2pm every Saturday Bring the kids and enjoy the show as such classics as "I'm Just a Bill" and "Conjunction Junction" come to life before your very eyes. The shoe is also available for private group showings during the week for children's parties and school field trips. Tickets are $14 or $8 for students and kids. Kids under three get in free.
The Stage Door theater offers affordable entertainment for a night out on the town or the whole family. Matt Donnelly's show, Celebrity Tarot Lounge, which enjoyed a very popular and brief run in July of 2009 will also be making a return with even more celebrity guests and more hilarious long-form improvisation in October of 2009.
The actors are constantly working on new shows to debut including an upcoming musical improv show and a sketch comedy show. Front-of-House Manager and Improviser Kyle Van Son is very excited for the future "The space is so versatile and flexible that there's practically no limit to the quantity and quality of entertainment it can provide. And you can't beat that price!! "

Post a CommentThis show was so much fun! I've been back two times and it's different every time! I love the Sound Effects game!
Good Las Vegas resource.

I'm fortunate enough to have seen this show several times. It ROCK! Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys Improv comedy who happens to be in Vegas. Great for locals.. gives them something fun to do off the busy madness of the strip.
What a resource... wish we had something like that around here.
