Las Vegas Poker Rooms: The Bellagio
The Ambiance is Nice, but the Bellagio Poker Room Isn't for Everyone
For Las Vegas virgins, visiting the Bellagio is a must. From the fantastic themed art to the Bellagio fountains, there is something to see at just about every turn. The resort is like a city in itself. Poker players know that the poker room there is one of the best rooms on the entire strip. It's not for everyone, though. The high limits, competitive play, and somewhat haughty environment make the Bellagio poker room a place fit for only a king and his men.
Wherever you go to play poker in Las Vegas, you will find different games and varying limits. The Bellagio's specialty is in higher limit games. For those looking to play $1/$2 No-Limit Texas Hold 'Em, you will have to look elsewhere. This casino is one of the few in the entire city that does not offer the low limit games. Their strategy is to draw in the best poker players and richest tourists that Las Vegas has to offer. It has worked well, but takes away a part of the Las Vegas experience that most people used to enjoy. If you have the money for it, try to participate in a live game at the Bellagio for at least a little while.
With those high limits, why would you want to head to the Bellagio? There are plenty of reasons. For starters, you will probably see someone famous. The Bellagio is a favorite poker room of many of Hollywood's biggest stars and some poker professionals, as well. In addition, the poker room is as plush as it is haughty. Those ceilings obviously don't pay for themselves, but they sure are nice to look at. In addition, you will enjoy the comfortable chairs and overall environment.
As most people know, drinks in Las Vegas casinos are "free" as long as you are playing a game. The Bellagio takes this to another level. Instead of pacifying players with house drinks and cheap liquor, the Bellagio offers top-shelf stuff. Order a screwdriver there and you likely hear the waitress ask, "Which type of vodka were you wanting, sir?"
In the end, you will want to visit the Bellagio for the experience of the poker room, but not for any serious play. The limits are high and the competition is stiff. If you like to smoke, you are out of luck as this poker room prohibits it. Head there on your first day and soak it all in, then head to places where poker are really played.
