Las Vegas is the Ultimate Destination for Your Next Super Bowl Party

Arthur Kirk
Hosting the greatest Super Bowl party of all time can be quite a challenge. As the host, you will need to choose the ultimate location, find accommodations for your guests and plan activities. This is all possible in Las Vegas. Las Vegas at the time of the Super Bowl is a football fan's dream come true. The town is full of casinos just waiting to accept your money for almost any type of bet imaginable. Many of the celebrity chefs are at their own restaurants in Las Vegas Super Bowl week waiting to be seen by their visitors, and of course there is plenty of entertainment in town.

As a host of a Super Bowl party for your friends in Las Vegas, the first concern you should have is getting all your friends into town. Do not worry though. Travelzoo.com has some of the cheapest hotel rooms and flights listed in one location for all of your guests. This makes it easy for them to get into town and book a hotel to enjoy a great weekend Super Bowl party with you.

Once your friends arrive, you will need to have activities for them to enjoy. You'll have plenty to choose from in Las Vegas. Plan an afternoon where the entire group goes out and enjoys playing craps on the floor of a casino. Craps is a lot of fun when you have a group of people playing together who know each other. It's the ultimate team gambling activity for football fans as they are all competing against the house and rooting on the roller of the dice. Think of the player with the dice as your favorite team's quarterback trying to lead your team on a Super Bowl winning touchdown drive.

Enjoy a night out at one of the fine dining establishments in Las Vegas to help the members of your Super Bowl party feel like they have won the Super Bowl and are going to Disney World. (Well, replace Disney World with Las Vegas.) One of the best places for steaks in Las Vegas is Delmonico's in the Venetian, a hotel operated by the famous Emeril Lagasse. Another fun dining option for a group of friends is the Samba Steakhouse at the Mirage. Try the rodizio-style dinner. When ordering this, waiters bring meat around on skewers and you can have as much or as little as you wish from each skewer. You can even have more of your favorites later in the meal as they make their way around the room again. This is a social experience and must be tried. Meats vary from steak to lamb and seafood as well.

Finish the first day of your Las Vegas Super Bowl party off by finding a casino with a poker room for you and your friends. The Luxor has some very nice poker tables, especially for players who are new to playing poker in Las Vegas. Imperial Palace is a good option if you want to find low-stakes tables. Finish the night off walking along the strip and maybe checking out some of the bars in Las Vegas such as the Ghost Bar, which has an incredible view of the entire city. Pure is a night club in Las Vegas with another great view. It also has rooms inside the bar that feature either elegant chairs to sit in or another section that actually surrounds the dance floor with beds.

On the second day of your Super Bowl party in Las Vegas, which will be Super Bowl Sunday, your schedule should be a little more geared toward the Super Bowl itself. Check with your hotel about the specials various bars and sportsbooks are having in Las Vegas for the Super Bowl. Discuss these with your friends as you enjoy a Las Vegas tradition: the breakfast buffet.

After breakfast, head to a sportsbook and pick up a wagering sheet for the Super Bowl. You will want to leave plenty of time to look over the betting sheet as there will be all kinds of bets from who wins to proposition bets. Proposition bets allow you and your friends to wager on anything from who wins the coin toss to what the first commercial shown during the Super Bowl will be. Of course, you can also make bets on who catches the most passes, throws the most interceptions, makes the most tackles, etc. You can even make bets on whether you think Monster.com, Careerbuilder.com or Etrade.com will have the first commercial of the Super Bowl. You must arrive early to place your bets though as the sportsbooks in the casinos are extremely crowded on Super Bowl Sunday with long lines.

After placing your bets, give your guests some time to enjoy some gambling on their own until about two hours before game time. Two hours before game time is when you should head over to the bar or sportsbook your group has chosen to watch the game at to get a good seat. Enjoy the game together with your friends as you enjoy the spread of food and drink specials the bar or sportsbook you have chosen offers. After the game ends, all that is left is to go to the sportsbook and collect your winnings. Once again, the sportsbooks at the casinos are very busy after the Super Bowl ends, so be prepared to stand in line.

Enjoy the rest of your evening, and say goodbye to your friends who have been in Las Vegas with you enjoying the Greatest Super Bowl Party Of All Time. The next morning is when you should plan on flying home. Do not try to rush out to the airport the night of the Super Bowl.
