Las Vegas New Year's Eve 2009 Fireworks

A List of Las Vegas Hotels with New Year's Eve Fireworks

Las Vegas New Year's Eve Fireworks 2009 - The Las Vegas fireworks display is going to be awesome this year. A ton of local hotels are shooting fireworks, but because of a fire last year at the Monte Carlo, rooftop fireworks have been banned, so they'll only be shooting them at ground level. You'll need to arrive early to get a good spot. Fireworks displays will be shot at the stroke of midnight, and it will be a spectacular sight to see, all over Las Vegas. Parking will be crunched in most places, so the best thing to do is take a shuttle or taxi from your hotel to your party spot. Try the Deuce, Vegas's famous two-level bus! It's a very affordable option in any case, and it is much cheaper than a DUI.

The Mandalay Bay fireworks will be shot from the Mandalay Bay Convention Center Lot at the corner of Russell Road and Las Vegas Boulevard. I would recommend hanging out at this hotel, because it is beautiful and there will be many surrounding fireworks displays at nearby hotels.

The Luxor Fireworks will be shot from the Parking Lot at the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Mandalay Bay Road.

MGM Grand, Paris, Caesars Palace and the Stratosphere will shoot their spectacular fireworks display from the top level their parking garages. There is ample parking all around the Stratosphere, but for Caesars Palace and MGM, the parking gets a little tight, and you will want to arrive early to get a good, safe parking space.

Treasure Island and the Mirage will shoot their fireworks display from the top level of the Valet Parking garage. The Las Vegas Convention Center will have fireworks shot from the Gold parking lot at the convention center.

The Fremont Street Experience will fire their pyrotechnics under the canopy. It should be an amazing show with all of the old school hotels and light displays, as well as the biggest high definition screen in the world. I'm hoping they'll sync the fireworks with the big screen movies, because that would be cool. You can park in public parking for free, but the underground parking garage beneath Jillian's is safer, and you can sometimes catch them for a validation for only $1 beer special. Watch out for creepy panhandling bums. If someone bothers you, find a bike cop for help. they are friendly, and they are everywhere.

I probably don't need to say this, but don't bring your kids to these celebrations; they are crazy! If raucous crowds don't appeal to you, you can also watch the New Years' Party on the local Fox Channel 5.

New years was a total waste of time on the strip. Police made less room on the strip then before so people were packed in even more at the chock points. Even worse was the pathetic fireworks. We were lucky , if you can call it that we saw some.

Bottom line don't go to the Vegas strip for New Year till the roof top fireworks are back!

I could not agree more. The fireworks were terrible. The word "pathetic" comes to mind. I felt like I was watching a small-town 4th of July display. I'd rather see no fireworks at all than waste the money and firepower on a display like that again. Sheesh.

The new years fireworks show was a total failure. My wife and I stood in the center of the strip and did not see one firework.
