It is very often not even the lack of care someone has given their skin; moreover it's just the fact that time and the elements eventually kick in and nature takes over. It could be "the effects of time, sun exposure, and toxins in the air" which have made your skin a case study for residual effects of life. However, "modern technology now offers a way to reverse years of damage. Laser resurfacing is a procedure that promotes healthy new skin," exclaims the doctor.
If you're a cynic, as I was, then you may turn your head and say, 'yeah, okay. But what is it that you're really doing here?'
The doctor was happy to respond. Apparently, certain conditions commonly associated with aging skin can be both "safely and dramatically reduced" by the use of this procedure.
'Does this work for everyone?'
Laser resurfacing works "for both men and women at almost any age. Whether you're talking about sun-damaged skin, wrinkles around the mouth or eyes, skin laxity in the lower eyelids, loose and wrinkled skin on the upper eyelids, brown spots, facial scarring, and over all skin tightness and tone," all of these have been found to be helped by the laser resurfacing treatments.
The trick is in the beam. You see, lasers are "controlled beams of light and energy that reaches a precise depth of penetration."
Okay, so how does that help?
"As the laser is carefully passed back and forth over the skin, it vaporizes the damaged or scarred tissue. Once the outer layer of skin has been removed, the healing process will yield new cells that are rich in youthful appearance, softer, smoother, and tighter."
So if you are feeling the effects of age and just want to try to look beautiful again, why not ask your health care professional about the amazing cosmetic work that's being done with laser resurfacing.
