Laser tooth whitening is a highly effective means of whitening the teeth. It is quite spendy, but the results will have you smiling wide. This article will describe the process of laser tooth whitening and what you can expect from this dental procedure.

Laser tooth whitening is basically the best tooth whitening process you can choose. The cream of the crop as far as elective dental procedures go. It is probably the most requested service in some dental offices. The process is fast and the results can be dramatic.

Laser tooth whitening is great for those who have discolorations on their teeth caused by injury or trauma to a tooth. It is also a good procedure for those who suffer from tooth discolorations due to the use of some prescription drugs. it is very highly recommended for those who have used at home kits with less than desirable results.

Effectiveness

Laser tooth whitening can whiten your teeth up to ten times brighter per session! One session lasts about 1 hour. Even though this type of tooth whitening is expensive it is the fastest and most effective

Process

The process of laser teeth whitening is pretty straight forward. First your dentist will apply a peroxide based gel to your teeth. This gel will then be held in place by trays that will stay on for 20 minutes or so. After this a special tool with a light will will be used. This type of tooth whitening is great for those who have sensitive teeth. It's also ideal for those who have tooth discolorations that are within the tooth itself.

Cost

The cost for laser tooth whitening will vary by area. It can cost anywhere from $1350-$2000 per session. This is the type of tooth whitening is much faster than the take home kits that's why it is so coveted. It's definitely an easy thing to improve about your appearance.

Maintenance

Laser tooth whitening may require future maintenance sessions to keep your smile bright. Stubborn discolorations may take additional sessions.

Pros and Cons

The pros of getting laser teeth whitening is that it's fast and you will see results instantly. The downside is the cost. Also there is an increased risk of sensitivity the more you get laser treatments. Some systems will work better for different individuals.

Zoom or Britesmile seem to be the two leading teeth laser whitening systems available. I have never heard of either personally but I am definitely looking into getting more information! I'd love to be done with the whitening products and at home kits. It's not that they are hard to use but just time consuming and messy.
