Back-to-school savings to a household on a budget comes with multiple options. Finally, shoppers can take their hands off of their heads at the department store register. Relief has arrived! There are multiple money saving options to consider when seeking those last minute back-to-school supplies.

Beginning with the obvious. Have you checked the book bag from last year? Seek any leftover supplies from the previous year or any back-to-school related item within your home. Those with large families are known to circulate hand me downs. School hand me downs are not such a bad idea.

Drug stores offer more than just prescription medication. Back-to-school items, such as folders, are usually a good sale find in late August into September at some local drug stores. Purchasing in bulk due to a "buy 10 for" pitch goes hand in hand. Visit your local drug store and do not forget the browse the clearance isle.

Second-hand stores and donation locations may carry various supplies including affordable back-to-school clothing. Check each bin, each rack, each shelf with a quick glance. Shoppers have been known to get lost in second-hand stores due to the countless items of outstanding savings.

Family members are always willing to help those closest to them. Ask a family member if they have any items to use for school that they no longer need. Hand me downs can be a saving grace.

School donations happen! Contact your local base school and ask if they offer anything for those struggling in this difficult economy when it comes to back-to-school supplies.

Clearance isles may be a little out of season. Look deeper and you may find back-to-school sales such as a set of No. 2 pencils with a mermaid on them, a palm tree pencil sharpener, a coconut eraser, or clothing
at clearance price.

Instead of calling it an end-of-summer party title it a back-to-school party then witness a back-to-school gift (or two) arrive. Make the cake yourself. Visit the local dollar store for supplies and items to use towards party activities. The key to savings in this option is purchasing affordable items then hoping for the best when it comes to the theme of the party.

Back-to-school items can include pencils, pencil boxes, erasers, lined paper, graph paper, scissors, glue (even stick), rulers, protractors, washable markers, dry markers, chalk, wipes, baggies, a book bag, ringed notebook, folders, index tags, index cards, and so on.

Always raise the priceless option bar in back-to-school savings because when you hear savings from a register ring a back-to-school shopper gets their wings!
