Last Minute Christmas Shopping for Your Husband

Caryn Murray
Men can be very tricky little creatures to shop for, and naturally it's their unique personality that helps us decide on the best Christmas gift for a husband. But last minute shopping is so overwhelming! Fear not, because here are some great pointers for last minute Christmas gifts for a husband, gifts that any man will love (with the exception of a few personality specific suggestions that may also help you out.)

Hunting Gear

This can be a main gift or a stocking stuffer, depending on what you get.

I strongly suggest this idea for women who have often nagged at a husband for hunting or fishing too much. It can be difficult to support something you have little or no understanding or appreciation of, and that is why giving your husband a gift that is relevant to his favorite hobby is a wonderful idea. If you're not the hunting type, and know little about it, you can ask a sales associate at a sporting goods store (I suggest Bass Pro, Cabela's, or Dick's) for assistance finding the perfect gift within your budget.

For a "main" (large) gift, I recommend a shotgun for hunters. Try the Mossberg 500 (usually between $200 and $400) or a new coverall (prices vary.) For filler gifts, stocking stuffers, or even the subtlest expression of acceptance about your husband's favorite activity, try small gifts like shells, handwarmers, doe calls (or a can of doe urine.)

Prices vary.

Puppy

This can be considered a main gift, if appropriate.

A puppy is not a gift for everyone, but you know better than I your husband's lifestyle, interests, and the appreciation he may or may not have for such a gift. If a puppy is a gift your husband will undoubtedly welcome, appreciate, and love unconditionally then I do suggest adopting a puppy or looking into local breeders (and knowing your husband's favorite breed of dog) rather than purchasing a pet from a pet store.

Prices vary.

Sexy lingerie, for you

This isn't necessarily a "main" gift, but it will be the most unforgettable.

I especially recommend that a woman who is unlikely to dress up and roleplay to give this particular gift to your husband. The best part is you can choose the shots. I strongly recommend Kabrini's Secret (http://KabrinisSecret.com) for their great prices and values, the variety of selections available, and for the outstanding customer service.

Women, as you already know, like a gift that surprises us and above all else shows that some real thought went into selecting that gift. Giving your husband a necktie is the equivalent of recieving another bottle of perfume. Having said that, dressing up like a schoolgirl or french maid for your husband, especially if it's the last thing you would do, is absolutely priceless. If you are really uncomfortable with that, there are a many options for lingerie at Kabrini's Secret that you might be a bit more comfortable in which will still have the same memorable effects. (Woman to woman though, test your own boundaries, shock and surprise, and he will be putty in your hands!)

(Extra bonus tip, if you're really comfortable with it, allow your husband to choose the lingerie you will wear for him. You may learn more about him this way.)

Favorite Sports Team grill cover

Due to bragging power, this can be considered a "main" gift.

If your man likes football and barbecuing (not to stereotype or anything) he will love to protect his grill with a cover that proudly displays his favorite sports team. The cost for a grill cover in the best sports team ever, as displayed in the following link, is only $40. Other sports team gifts are also great ideas, as long as they aren't too generic.

Home Brewing Kit

It doesn't matter how much you spend. Give a man a beer, he'll be happy for 10 minutes. Give a man the tools to make his own beer and he'll wash the dishes for a week!

If your man likes beer (is this another stereotype sneaking through) he will be your slave for a month if you get him a kit to make his own beer. (The only thing he'll appreciate more than this is a piece of lingerie bought from Kabrini's Secret. Combine the two and it's all over!)

Hot Sauce of the Month Club Membership

This is a great gift for any man, not just a husband, who likes to cook. For a husband, however, this should be a filler gifts.

Last minute gift shoppers have often relied on magazine subscriptions to make it appear as though they put some thought into a gift that one will enjoy all year. Well, this is much better. It doesn't have to be a hot sauce membership, it could be barbecue sauce, steak, wine, whatever. You will be giving your husband a new gift every month for a year, and when you add it all up it's a very big gift that he will look forward to each month.

  • Men appreciate shock and surprise just as much as women do, if not more.
Although men hate shopping, he will enjoy shopping very much if you give him a gift certificate to Kabrini's Secret to choose a piece of lingerie he would like you to wear. (Ultimately, this is a gift that will keep on giving, in many ways.)
