Last Minute Homemade Ice Cream Cone Costume -

Materials and tools you will need:

Two pairs of kids white tights

An Adult sized white t-shirt

Tan or Brown leggings

A Black or Brown sharpie

A Child sized Brown t-shirt

Scissors

Giant safety Pins

A White long sleeved top

Brown or black shoes

Small safety pins

Red hat

Creating the Ice Cream Cone Halloween Costume:

First, you will need to stuff the white tights with the white t-shirts, or if you would rather you can use white stuffing instead of t-shirts. After you stuff the tights tie the end to keep everything from getting out. Remember, you will be wrapping these around your child's torso, so depending on how long their torso is you could be stuffing 3 or 4 legs.

Next you will be making the ice cream cone. Draw criss-crossing diagonal lines on the leggings with thick black or brown sharpie.

Next you will be making the hot fudge topping. Take the brown t-shirt and at about 6 inches down from the collar begin cutting a wave pattern. Cut the curves up and down around the shirt, at different lengths, to give the impression of drizzled hot fudge. When you finish cutting the sleeves and body of the shirt should fall away and you will be left with a collar.

Next you will need to make the sprinkles for the ice cream cone Halloween costume. Dip some of the giant safety pins in paint, any color will work for this project, and you can use children's paints to do this. Let them dry before you add them to the costume.

Next you will need to help your child get dressed. Put on one of the child sized white top's and leggings. Next, wrap the stuffed white tights around your child's torso and secure together at the back with safety pins. Also remember to pin the tights to the shirt. Next put on the hot fudge collar. Add the safety pin sprinkles once they are completely dry and fasten them all along the shirt, tights, and collar. Put on the red hat to add the cherry on top effect. You can turn the hat around if you don't want the bill showing.
