Last Minute Homemade Halloween Costumes for Puppies

Sarah Ganly
My little pit bull puppy is adorable; he is my little angel, and he loves kids so I think I will take him trick or treating with me and my niece this year, but I do not have a costume picked out yet. I have been throwing ideas around all day about great last minute costumes for puppies, and I have decided to describe my top three favorite homemade last minute Halloween costumes for puppies in this article.

1.
My little dog is my hero so I would definitely make him a super hero costume at the last minute for Halloween. For this costume all you need to make is a cape. You will need a fabric dinner napkin, a piece of ribbon, needle and thread, hot glue, and 2 pieces of felt. Simply cut the napkin to fit the dogs back, and sew the edges. Next sew the ribbon to the end of the cape that will go around the dog's neck. Cut a felt triangle out of one piece of felt, and a large letter shape out of the other. Using the dogs initial is always cute. Glue the letter to the triangle and glue the triangle to the cape. Tie the homemade cape costume around the neck of your puppy and he will be the perfect little super hero this Halloween at the last minute.

2.
A classy and easy homemade puppy costume for Halloween is the butler. You will need a black piece of felt, a white piece of felt, a black marker, fabric glue, and a black ribbon. Cut long rectangle of the same size from both pieces of felt. Make sure they are big enough to cover the puppy's chest. Cut a V shape out of the black and glue it to the white. Draw three black buttons on the white. Make a bow out of the black ribbon and glue it to the front of the shirt. Glue another ribbon around the bottom of the shirt and make sure it is long enough to tie around the back of the puppy. Attach the top of the shirt to your puppy's collar by slipping string through the loops of the bow and tying to the collar. This perfect little homemade suit costume will make your puppy look professional for Halloween at the last minute.

Another cute homemade last minute costume for your puppy on Halloween is the 80' rocker costume. Find a tiny baby t-shirt and cut the sleeves off of it. With paint or makers draw an 80's metal logo on the back of the shirt. Def Leopard, Guns N Roses, or ACDC will work great. If you do not want to draw you can print a logo out and glue it to the shirt. Push your puppy's hair into a mohawk with water, and he is ready to rock!

Homemade Halloween costumes are fun and easy to make, and these last minute homemade Halloween costumes for your puppy are too cute to not try on your puppy.
