Last Month for Stimulus Checks

It Still Isn't Too Late to Claim Yours - Yet

Bryan Belrad
Millions of Americans still have not received their economic stimulus package rebate checks. While there are as many reasons why as there have been days since the April 15th deadline for filing your tax return, the primary problem is just that: the tax return.

Even now, many people are totally unaware that in order to receive one of the rebate checks, a tax return must be filed with the IRS for 2007 - even if no taxes are owed.

But fret not, those of you who have been caught unawares - there is still one more month to get those returns in and get your share of the biggest cash give-away in American history. The deadline for qualifying for a stimulus check is October 15th.

If you don't owe any taxes, file those returns anyway. If you (and your spouse, if applicable) made at least $3,000 in 2007, you'll get something back.

But filing your return is the only way to qualify.
