Last Night on "Dancing With the Stars" - Episode 6- Season 12

Many fans love the "Dancing With The Stars" themes, especially as the show reaches the halfway point. Musical guilty pleasures brings the fun!

How are the stars doing? Very well without a doubt. There are only 7 stars left in the ballroom.

Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are rounding out the middle of the pack. Kirstie admitted her guilty pleasures song is "Hit Me Baby One More Time," by Britney Spears. Maksim told her that Brazilians don't think when they samba. She admitted her overthinking was a problem. Len Goodman said Kirstie had never fulfilled the potential of week one until tonight. Carrie Ann Inaba admitted she wanted to see Kirstie in the finals. This is the first time Kirstie did not run out of stamina. Good for her - she already has the fan base to go along with it! Judges scores: 26 out of 30.

Chris Jericho and Cheryl Burke worked on the tango this week to "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey. Most people don't know that he's the lead singer of a band. During rehearsals Jericho had problems with timing the steps with the music. He was getting frustrated, but he normally pulls through with flying colors. His posture has improved immensely, and it's admirable how he is able to work a million steps into the program. While others stars often are afraid to do the steps and let their professional partner do double time - he isn't like that. He works for it and that's why fans love him. Bruno said he lost time with the steps and that his performance was lumpy. Carrie Ann Inaba felt that the pressure had gotten to him and that it wasn't passionate. Len Goodman said the tango isn't a fun dance and that the he had good posture, hold, and his foot work was good. Len called it an excellent job, while disagreeing with his fellow judges. Judges scores: 22 out of 30 (with the highest score coming from Len, for a change!)

Romeo Miller and Chelsie Hightower performed the waltz to "My Heart Will Go On," by Celine Dion. Chelsie said he's an actor but this week she wants to improve his technique to hopefully get a "10" score from the judges. They are currently in a three-way time for second place. This is perfect timing of her part. Romeo wants to jump the leader board to catch up to Hines Ward. Their performance was romantic, graceful, and his posture and hold are amazing. There were so many steps packed in to this performance and Romeo did a great job. At the end he kissed her. Yes, really. We can all tell he's seriously crushing on her. Carrie Ann Inaba said "every once in a while on a season something magical happens, and that was magical." She liked that he was always emotional invested in the dance. Len said he dances with romance and maturity. Judges scores: 28 out of 30. They received the first "10" of the season, and it was well deserved.

Chelsea and Mark Ballas worked on the quickstep to "Walking On Sunshine." This is the couple to watch! They're full of energy and certainly the show would be dull without them. The only issue I see at this point is getting the fan votes (due to the big name stars on the show this season), and Chelsea admitting that she's not very competive. Mark said during rehearsals that she had the will to win. Their quickstep was beautifully insync and of course full of steps. They are so fun to watch and the crowd rose to their feet in cheers for them. Len Goodman said they managed to fuse fun with technique. Bruno said the steps were very difficult but she managed to do it. Carrie Ann Inaba said it was "so insync" and that magic had happened again. Judges scores: 28 out of 30 (tying them with Romeo.)

Kendra Wilkinson and Louis van Amstel worked on the samba this week. Louis called this Kendra's week. The past two weeks she's been at the bottom of the leader board. She's come a long way and her potential is more than obvious. They danced to "Living La Vida Loca" and she got her steps precise, gained her confidence, and gave it all there was to give. It was impressive. If she keeps working like that she really has a chance. Carrie Ann Inaba said she was so in her element. Len Goodman said last week they had a spark this week a fire. Judges scores: 25 out of 30.

Hines Ward and Kym Johnson are proving to be real contenders. They scored the highest scores last week and the judges are loving them. Along with the fans. This week they had to rehearse the viennese waltz to "End of the Road." Hines admitted when he was a child he wanted to be in a group like Boyz To Men. Kym said last week it was important to stay technical, this week she wants to show his romantic side. He admitted that he practices at home and much like football he he writes down his plays on paper. Being at the top of the leader board showed him what he could do. Judges scores: 27 out of 30.

Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff performed the paso doble to "Everybody Dance Now" by C&C Music Factory. They were bringing the fire until his coat caused Karina to slip but he quickly pulled her back to her feet and the show went on. He did much better this week if you ask me. The judges were also impressed with his retrieval of Smirnoff. Macchio seems to be improving his steps, tehnique, and hold. Some have claimed that Macchio peaked in week two, but it's obvious that he has much more to give. Even his posture has improved. The slight mishap resulted in lower scores. Judges scores: 22 out of 30.
