Last Night was Wonderful!

Cindy Tuttle
Last night I had the honor of presenting a night of prayer and sharing at a local church. There were about twenty people and they were all wonderful! They were wiling to participate in the rituals and their faith was a light for my soul.

We discussed the gifts God gives us each day and I brought a beach ball. We made a circle and each time we threw the ball we were to say a gift God has given us. It was fun and it helped us focus on how awesome God is. We sang and I read a passage from the Bible and I asked that they write down on a faith card (index card) what promise they want to make to God tonight regarding sharing the gifts they had been given.

I learned that I need to be clearer about what I am asking them to do.In the last ritual they had a hard time understanding what I was asking. Sometimes it's hard for me to verbalize the thoughts I am having to others. I also forgot to thank my host. Yikes!! That was a huge mistake! I thanked her before and after but not publically to the group. I appologized to her today.

It was a gift to me to be able to be with such a faith filled group. If you know of a church or group who would like me to come and do a retreat in person or Skype. Please let me know.I also am developing a one day seminar for churches to develop faith sharing groups for people with severe mental illness and another group for families. I also am going to offer a morning retreat for caregiovers of elderly family members and another retreat offered for family members of people with severe mental illness and also a retreat for people with severe mental illness. Retreats I Offer

1.Gifts of God- In this retreat we focus on the gifts God has given to us with prayer, ritual, scripture, simple dance movements, reflection and sharing. This can be a very short retreat (1-3 hrs.) or it can be a day or weekend retreat.

2.Jesus is Near- This is a retreat for the times in our life when the cross becomes heavy and we need comfort and serenity. We reflect how Jesus is with us and give some practical suggestions regarding how prayer and reaching out to others can not only help us get through but can even enliven our faith. We experience this through prayer, reflection, scripture, and sharing. This can also be a short or longer retreat depending on the needs of the community.

3.Wonders of God's Creation- This is an uplifting retreat which celebrates the creation of God. This retreat assists us with connecting with God through nature. This can be a short or long retreat.
