Paris Hilton, Snoop Dogg, and Other Celebrities in Legal Tangles

It seems that where ever a celebrity goes some sort of crime is bound to happen. From DUI's to murder to tax evasion, celebrities just can't seem to stay out of trouble. It does not help matters when a celebrity gets off easy for crimes that would have regular citizens sitting in a jail cell for a decade or so.

Sylvester Stallone - On February 16, 2007, Sly was stopped in a Sydney, Australia airport and officials searched his bags and allegedly found steroids and human growth hormones (HGH). Recently Sylvester Stallone, 60, was officially charged for illegal importation of performance enhancing drugs and awaits his day in court on April 24, when he will give his plea. If Sly Stallone is found to be guilty he will get a fine of $22,000. HGH is used to increase the size of a person's body and build while others use it in the anti-aging fight.

Snoop Dogg - It is not at all shocking to see Snoop Dogg once again in trouble with the law, after all he has an image to uphold. Snoop who was in Stockholm, Sweden with Diddy had his car stopped by Swedish police who alleged that the rapper and his female companion were doing drugs and were otherwise intoxicated. Swedish police has said that Snoop Dogg was arrested; Snoop's lawyer says he was not.

Courtney Love - Very surprising in this case is that Courtney Love is in legal trouble because she is being sued and not because she is being hauled off to jail. Beau Monde's Recovery Retreat has filed a lawsuit against Courtney Love because they allege that she did not pay her bill of $ 181,286 for her stay at the rehab center.

Brandon Davis - Although his family is rich and worth billions Brandon Davis is mostly known as a "friend" to Paris Hilton and the phrase "fire crotch", a word he used to describe Lindsay Lohan. Whether or not you consider Brandon Davis a celebrity, one has to wonder how he wound up at the end of a lawsuit such as this one. Atlantis Paradise Resort and Casino is suing the Davis because he wrote them $75,000 worth of checks and they all bounced. It is alleged that he knowingly wrote the checks fully aware that he did not have the bank funds to cover them. Considering the wealth his family has and the fact that he is an heir to that wealth, how could he bounce $75,000 when he is worth billions?

Lane Garrison - A former star of the television series "Prison Break", Lane Garrison, 26, may soon be behind bars in real life. The actor is charged with driving while intoxicated back in December 2006. Police have said that in the car were two 15 year old girls and one 17 year old male. While driving with the teens to go get more alcohol, Lane Garrison crashed his car and the 17 year old boy died while one of the girls is in critical condition. Garrison is out on $100,000 after the judge lowered it from $200,000. Lane Garrison met the teens at a party and other partygoers have claimed that they saw Lane Garrison drinking nonstop and also snorting cocaine. He is charged with vehicular manslaughter and faces up to 10 years in prison.

John Popper - In early March police pulled over John Popper, the front man for the Blue's Traveler band for going 111mph and during a search of the car police found guns and drugs. The musician had a small arsenal that included 9 guns, 4 rifles and a very dangerous knife. John Popper was also found to have marijuana in his car. Everything was found in secret compartments in John Poppers car.
