Laughter

Elisa Ashley
Laughter makes us smile
makes hard times easier
helps us make friends
even gives us some exercise

Laughter is heard when we're happy
being goofy and silly
its heard in times of frustration
when a friend tries so hard to make us smile

Laughter is the first language of babies
is rumored to have created fairies
and sometimes brings us to tears

Laughter is what happens
when we think of our families
and friends
and our first dates with our spouses

Laughter binds us together
and is a sign of love
Please don't be offended
if some day I am so happy
I laugh in your presence.

Laughter, some days,
is all I have left.

Sometimes, we just have to let go and laugh. (Please see my "Just Laugh" to discover how much I agree with you.)

Your poems are excellent. Laughter is good for the soul.
