Laundry Basket Halloween Costume: A Budget-Friendly, Clever Costume Idea

There are a few simple things you will need to create this clever and thrifty costume. It is very possible that you have all the necessary items already at your finger tips with the addition of some time.

Here is what you need to make your costume
-1 laundry basket
- Scissors or utility scissors
- Newspaper string or any strong string
- Clothes
- Clothes pins
- Small detergent boxes (empty)

- A pair of jeans

- A T-Shirt

- Pen

- 2 Towels (optional)

Here are the steps to make your costume:
1. Take a laundry basket and cut out the bottom with scissors or a utility scissor. Be careful not to cut yourself during this process as the plastic might be a bit tough to cut through. Also make sure you cut out enough so your shoulders can fit through the basket.
2. Cut 2 equal pieces of string ( to measure how long the string should be, measure from your shoulder to your thigh, double it and leave some extra for securing the knots) and tie to each side of the basket- this is to make straps. 3. Using the clothes pins, secure small clothes to the sides of the basket

4. Punch a small hole using a pen in the detergent boxes and tie to the basket so they hang

5. Wear a pair of jeans and a T-shirt
6. Step into the basket and pull straps over your shoulder. If you feel there is too much weight on your shoulders, you can take two towels, fold them up small and place between your shoulder and the string. This will give you a little bit more comfort especially if you plan on wearing the costume for a long time.
