Laura Bush Killed a Guy, Family Guy and the Truth

One of the hottest searches today according to Google Trends is "Laura Bush Killed A Guy" all due to an episode of Family Guy in which Peter Griffin dressed as Laura Bush and his wife, Lois, dressed as a man with a tire track on the abdomen attend a costume party. During this sketch the characters of Family Guy repeat several times "Laura Bush Killed A Guy."More than one person wants to know what this is in reference too. That's why the topic is so hot on Google trends.

The truth of the matter is that Laura Bush previously known as Laura Welch was in a car accident in 1963. The public police reports show that another person was in the car with Laura and another car was involved in the accident. The other car's driver was 17-year-old Michael Douglas (not of Basic Instinct) who was fatally injured in the car wreck. Michael Douglas had broken his neck in the crash and was pronounced dead on arrival at Midland Memorial Hospital.

According to the police reports, Laura Welch failed to stop at a stop sign and then collided with Douglas' sedan. No criminal charges or lawsuits were brought forth from the accident. Rumors have abounded that Laura was under the influence of drinking, drugs and criminally negligent however there has been no evidence found of wrongdoing on her part.

Family Guy is an adult cartoon show aired on the Fox Network. This show offers up crude humor aimed at everyone and every thing. Laura Bush is just another victim of the shows attempt at getting ratings. They have mocked the disables, politics, history, domestic abuse, homosexuals and almost any other topic that has controversy involved with it. Peter Griffin the shows father figure often mocks his daughter's sexuality, son's idiocy and wife's craziness. The youngest son Stewie is often looking for ways to kill his mother which he attempts in almost every episode. Another feature of the Family Guy show is that they have guest appearances (voice overs) by major celebrities like Matthew McConaughey, Adam West, Adam Corolla, Luke Perry, Robin Leach, Michelle Kwan and many others.

"Laura Bush Killed a Guy" episode is just another parody portrayed by the Family Guy creators. Other episodes that have caused a stir of controversy include "I need a Jew", "There's something about Paulie" and a scene in "Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story" where Jesus hums a tune.

terribly written. poor grammar. family guy is witty and poignant; infinitely moreso than yourself. laura bush killed a guy. end of story.

I never knew that. I watch the show occasionally but turn it off more because it's kind of crude. (I know that's the point but I don't have to watch it)

Nice article, Linda. Although I do watch the show, I switch it off quite often. That episode was one I switched off.

You really wrote this well. I really hate the show, I find it very offensive, and I hope that parents don't let their children watch it. I never heard about Laura Bush and the accident.

Having known someone who killed someone else in an accident, I feel for Laura Bush. I imagine it is something she carries with her every day. Family Guy and South Park - neither are known for tact.
