Laura Mercier Thickening and Building Mascara Review

Didn't Quite Delivered

In the last year I've heard a lot about Laura Mercier products, before that I had never even heard of her name. Maybe I'm just slow when it comes to catching on to makeup trends and she could've been big all this time and I just didn't know it until now. Many of my favorite makeup gurus use a lot of her products but I never felt compelled to try it myself, and truthfully the only Laura Mercier product that I've tried was a mascara that came in my Sephora deluxe mascara sampler. The following are my pros and cons to Laura Mercier's thickening and building mascara.

Laura Mercier thickening and building mascara was designed to create lushes lashes, adding volume to optimize fullness without the clumping. This mascara also contains vitamins A, E, and C that services to moisturize and condition the eyelashes.

What I liked about Laura Mercier's thickening and building mascara was that it was fairly affordable for the quality, costing just $20 for a regular size tube. I liked the brush because it was a good size with lots of bristles, slightly bushy but still slender enough that I didn't make a mess around my eyes when applying mascara. I found that this Laura Mercier mascara did a great job at separating my lashes, but also lengthen and thickened them to create gorgeous full lashes. It was almost like wearing false lashes but more natural looking, and without the hassle of using glue. Laura Mercier's thickening and building mascara is also buildable. The more coats I used the thicken and darker my lashes looked. I really liked that this Laura Mercier mascara didn't smudge, smear or flaked on me. I've had problems with mascaras in the past that smudged on top of my eyelids or under my eyes anytime I blinked. I also can't stand flaking in mascaras as a contact lens wearer, it's a nightmare to deal with.

I've used this Laura Mercier mascara several times throughout the past three weeks and I've noticed that this mascara has great staying power. I was able to wear it for an entire day without having to reapply. The best part was that it kept my lashes curled.

There were some downsides to Laura Mercier's thickening and building mascaras too. This mascara was design to be clump-free but I've noticed some clumping the times I've used it. The clumping wasn't really bad but it was enough for me to notice and have to use a lash comb to brush out. This mascara doesn't come in waterproof either, and I would've really liked it better had it did.

Overall my experiences with Laura Mercier's thickening and building mascara as been a very good one. I really liked it, but it's not the best that I've tried nor is it my top five favorites. Would I buy this mascara in the full size? Probably not. Like I said, I've had better but I'd still recommend it.
