Lautenberg Hypocrisy: Ambulance that Took Him to NY After Fall Not Allowed to Under Obamacare He Voted For

Marc Schenker
Democrat Senator Frank Lautenberg is in the middle of huge hypocrisy when it comes to health care. The ambulance that he told to take him to NY after his fall this past Monday-which turned out to be related to stomach cancer-would not be allowed to take him there under the Obamacare bill he voted for on December 24! This absolute position of two-faced double-standards exemplifies the type of "people" Americans are dealing with when it comes to the scandalous debacle known as Obamacare. These people-all the Democrats including Obama and Lautenberg who want Obamacare-essentially take this attitude: We know better than you, fellow Americans, and we will shove Obamacare down your throats whether you like it or not, whether most of you oppose it according to polls or not. However, in our private lives...tee hee hee...we will not limit ourselves to the same restrictions and instead do as we want!

This latest episode of two-faced scandal involving a Democrat and Obamacare centers around actions and decisions Lautenberg made this past Monday from his Cliffside Park home. Cliffside Park is a borough of Bergen County which in turn is located in New Jersey. After falling in his home-which was later confirmed was due to blood loss from an ulcer, which in turn led to a diagnosis of stomach cancer-he retained consciousness and so was able to call an ambulance. Here's where his hypocrisy will enter into the fray in the most blatant way possible.

The directions he gave to the ambulance-to take him to Manhattan's Mount Sinai Medical Center-failed to accurately reflect or fairly correspond to his vote for the deficit-raising disaster known as Obamacare that he voted for on December 24, 2009, in the Senate. You see, according to a Fox News senior judicial analyst-oh, no one credible...just judge Andrew Napolitano!-such a directive would've been expressly disallowed under Obamacare, were it to pass. The reason for said disallowance is the provision in the Obamacare bill that doesn't let directions for ambulances stray outside their "local catchment area." Such an area is defined, basically, as an area from which an individual service attracts visitors or customers. Ergo, an ambulance called by Lautenberg from Cliffside Park, New Jersey, would attract "customers" from the same region, so driving all the way to Manhattan would be a big no-no! What we have here is a clear-cut case of the Democrats shamelessly engaging in what they do best: Do as I say, not as I do!!!

Lautenberg voted for a disastrous bill that would've denied the right for every American to choose a hospital of their liking in just such a situation, yet he saw no problem with picking a hospital he perceived to be better than local ones in New Jersey. If Lautenberg wouldn't have been so furiously hypocritical, he would've told the ambulance driver, "Driver! Take me to the 'finest' hospital near my local catchment area in Cliffside Park, Palisades General Hospital in North Bergen!" But no, being a Democrat, he has to insist on a different standard for himself than for every other American.

A reason for this discriminatory selection of Lautenberg's to opt to go to the fancier hospital, let's say, in Manhattan has to do with nothing else than one of the dirtiest, well-known secrets of American lawmakers: the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program!! Under this oh-so-cushy benefit program, paid almost in whole by you the little taxpayer, lawmakers like Lautenberg are afforded wild benefits that most average Americans can only dream about. Such benefits include never being refused for pre-existing conditions, an insanely wide choice of up to 10 plans at a time, and a right to tailor their plans in ways that would seem euphoric to most Americans. Flagrantly, with these perks, how could Lautenberg not instruct the ambulance to go all the way to Manhattan despite his hypocritical vote for Obamacare, which would specifically disallow such a maneuver?!?!

I'm not saying let's beat up on old man Lautenberg. I'm saying let's hold pathologically hypocritical Democrats like him to full account, at least to the point where his actions in real life match his blasted voting record. If Lautenberg could, after his medical-emergency fall, actually think of a better hospital such as the one in Manhattan to go to instead of the nearer one in old Bergen Country, then he surely could've also had the presence of mind to realize that he was being hypocritical and inconsistent. By the way, according to Fox News, Lautenberg or his office still hasn't responded to questions about his shameful hypocrisy because it's indefensible.

The US health care system is in need of reform. Obama's health care package is a step in the right direction.

Something really has to be done about the healthcare in this country.

obamacare is watered down, it is not the package it was meant to be because of all the squawking going on. I am so glad I have my free health care in canada, and yes it is one of the best health care systems in the entre world,
incidently usa ranks last in the western hemisphere because it is the only western country that does not have a government program

Another very interesting article with a very interesting title. I agree that Obama's health reform package does not achieve all the goals we anticipated, but not for the reason's you gave in your article.

Did you listen to the National Governors Associations Conference on Health Reform? I strongly suggest you do. They gave the perfect reason for being against Obama's health care package: One size does not fit all. If you want more information, go to

As a New Jersey voter who even voted for him before I knew any better, good for him, although with all his money, he can afford to pay!

Excellent report. Although, it's not just the democrat politicians who are hypocritical. Politicians these days no matter what party don't seem to want to listen to their constituents.

I didn't know the new health package was passed yet either. Well, so much for Obamacare in this case...

I think a larger question in rural areas will be whether there will even BE a hospital to be taken to.

Awesome article! Very interesting information and I'm not even into politics.
