Lavender and Peppermint Soap
White glycerin soap base
Lavender flowers/ dried
Peppermint essential oil
Melt the soap base in a double boiler or in something similar to a double boiler, like a glass bowl in a pan of water. Pick out the mold you wish to use for your soap and prepare it with a mold release of some kind. I prefer to use petroleum jelly for this myself. When your soap base is completely melted, remove from the heat and add the peppermint essential oil and the lavender flowers. Mix this up very well. Pour the melted soap mixture into you prepared mold and let it cool for several hours. Once your soap has set and is completely cool to the touch, take it out of the mold, and wipe off any mold release left on it. If your soap is difficult to unmold, try putting it in the freezer for a little while and try again. Last, cut your soap and package it as you desire.
Lavender and Peppermint Foot Soak
1Part finely ground sea salt
2 Parts Epsom salt
Peppermint essential oil
Lavender Flowers/ dried
Find a clean, and dry sealable container. Place the sea salt in the bottom of your container. Add the peppermint essential oil and stir into the sea salt very well. Next add the lavender flowers and Epsom salt. Mix this up very well. Store the salt in this sealable container and shake well everyday for a week before using it. After the first week, you can package this in plastic for retail/gifts or leave in its container and use as you need it. This wonderful salt can be used as a bath salt and is every bit as relaxing as I mentioned above, but it is great as a foot soak because peppermint is so good for your feet.
