Lavender Pillows Can Treat Anything!

I have written an article previously regarding the various benefits of lavender. Lavender has a number of uses, including aiding in the treatment of anxiety, mental exhaustion, headaches, depression, insomnia, fever, aches, pains and bruises.

Many people enjoy the benefits of lavender by using its essential oils in lotions and creams to treat headaches, wounds, aches, pains and bruises. Alternatively, it can be placed in potpourri and sachets. Its scent can lift the mood and treat insomnia. Personally, I have discovered the priceless benefits of using a lavender pillow.

Lavender pillows are a wonderful way to experience the benefits of both the lavender flowers and essential oils together. The pillows can vary in size and contain a variation of a specific blend of organic rice, buckwheat, flax seed, lavender flowers and lavender essential oils and can be purchased at some health food stores.

By placing a lavender pillow in the freezer, it can be used as an ice pack, treating inflammation, headaches, fever and bruises. Alternatively, by placing the pillow in the microwave, it can be heated and used as a heating pad to treat aches, pains, sore muscles, headaches, insomnia, depression, anxiety, and mental exhaustion.

The pillow can be heated and placed on the tummy for menstrual cramps. It can be draped around the neck and shoulders to treat stiff muscles. It can also be placed on any sore spot on the body to help relieve pain. In addition, the scent from the pillow can lift the mood, reduce headaches, and treat insomnia.

Lavender pillows are frequently given to hospital patients in Europe to help with aches and pains, as well as to treat insomnia. Holistic health practitioners often recommend the pillows as a more beneficial replacement for ice packs and heating pads. The benefits of using lavender pillows are limitless.

I recently conducted a personal test and asked a group of people to use the lavender pillow created by Peace-and-Harmony: Holistic Health. The test consisted of 10 people, or subjects, ages 27 to 83. Each had different backgrounds and health complaints. I asked them to try the pillow for one week by either heating it or placing it in the freezer. After one week, I interviewed them to asked them to review the product.

By the end of the week, each person testing the lavender pillow ended up purchasing one for themselves. Seven of the ten subjects even purchased one for friends. The subjects reported better sleep, relief from muscle soreness, headache reduction, and relief from moodiness, to name a few.

A summary of the test results for five of the subjects is as follows:

Subject A is a male age 82. He used the pillow to treat a sore ankle and stiff joints. He used the pillow daily for 10 minutes each day. He reported relief from joint pain almost immediately.

Subject B is a female age 46. She used the pillow each night to help treat insomnia. She has since been using the pillow every night with not one night of uninterrupted sleep.

Subject C is a female age 27. She used the pillow to treat headaches. She did not use the pillow daily, but only when she felt a headache within the week, which was three times. Each time that she used the pillow she either draped it around her neck or placed it across her forehead. She reported finding relief within minutes.

Subject D is a male age 36. He used the pillow to treat a stiff neck and shoulders, due to standing and doing manual labor for hours each day. He used the pillow heated for 10 to 20 minutes each day. After the first day, he noticed less stiffness and tenderness in his muscles.

Subject E is a female 54. She used the pillow on various areas of her body; both heated and cooled to treat a variety of menopause symptoms. She not only reported physical relief, but the scent of the lavender also helped to treat her anxiety, depression and moodiness.

I personally do not sit at my computer without my lavender pillow draped across my neck and shoulders. My husband has his own that he uses to help soothe knee pain. We have even given one to our young daughter to sleep with when she is ill, which allows her to sleep more soundly throughout the night.

I personally recommend one to anyone who experiences occasional pain or discomfort, which is everyone at some point. We all experience pain, soreness and occasional depression or anxiety.

When purchasing a lavender pillow, I recommend purchasing one that is at least 10 inches long. This way, the pillow can be draped around the neck, arms or legs. It is also long enough to cover a large area of the lower back or stomach.

Store your pillow in a tightly sealed plastic bag or container to preserve the freshness of the pillow and its scent. Never wash the pillow or submerge it in water. To clean the surface of the pillow, gently blot it with a slightly damp cloth.

Owning a lavender pillow can be an excellent way to naturally treat the body, relax the mind, and pamper ones self in an all-natural, inexpensive manner.
