Law & Order Actor, Ice-T Twitters Contempt for Law Enforcement when Arrested

The fact that rapper and actor, Ice-T, plays a detective on Law & Order: SVU doesn't mean that he will be cooperative with the real police if they decide to stop his vehicle for whatever reason, as he demonstrated on his twitter after being arrested in New York City on July 20th.

Ice-T and his wife, Coco were on their way home to Jersey, after dropping off their bulldog, Spartacus in Manhattan for a medical procedure. When an officer waved him over at a check-point, Ice-T ignored it so the officer ran over to the white Cadillac and banged on the tinted window. Police sources told the NY Post that the officer did recognize the TV star but "remained professional." Originally stopped for not wearing a seat belt, the NY Post reported that Ice-T had a suspended license, while the Daily News said his insurance wasn't valid.

The NY Post also reported that Ice-T was handcuffed, fingerprinted and was at the precinct for nearly 3 hours. Ice-T's first tweet at 10:16 a.m. reads: "Some punk b-tch rookie cop named Fisher #10026 Made the arrest of his bulls--t career today." A minute later he tweeted "out in 20 min. Come on son! #FLTG." He then tweeted that the officer said: "'I know who you are and I don't give a f--k!' That was right after I called him a punk b-tch.. Then they questioned me about FLTG."

Is Ice-T leaving something out there? It seems like a response to the question "Do you know who I am?" and why would they stop him for a seat-belt violation and then ask him about FLTG, assuming that they even knew what that is? I didn't but The Urban Dictionary was kind enough to provide this definition:

"Final Level Twitter Gang. The tightest and sickest social network gang the world has ever seen. Started by Ice T on Twitter"

Maybe they were looking at his twitters in the police station. He was given a desk appearance ticket and released. At 2:53 p.m., Ice-T sent out another tweet about the suspended license: "And for the record.. My license in not suspended. I don't and never had a NYC licence. I have a valid NJ licence. It was all bullsh-t...."

He also told the Post "I stopped breaking the law a long time ago, I ain't trying to get in trouble." His TV partner, Richard Belzer who plays Detective John Munch seconded that, saying he's never known Ice-T to engage in any illegal activities, and jokingly said the police probably arrested him because they wanted to see his buxom wife, Coco.

Whatever the real story is, fans of Ice-T's Law & Order character may take a different view of his portrayal of Detective Odafin "Fin" Tutuola now. If the police stop you and want to check your papers, you're just supposed to show them and if they're not okay, don't get mad at the police.
