Lawn Care

Ambrosia Jefferson
As always when it comes to buying books online for what ever needs I may have in my life I go through Amazon.com as they have just about every book I could ever dream on especially in regards to lawn care. I found a few really nice books on there just recently because we decided to revamp our outdated lawn at home.

For any of you with big green lawns like we have these books are going to be your best friend in helping you learn care, organizing, and how to help keep it healthy and happy from mowing, to landscaping, fertilizers, treatments for pests, and all sorts of natural disasters that can effect a lawns health.

Ortho's All About Lawns, written by Ortho Books was an easy find and helped me learn more with pictures on identifying grass types, to the fertilizers, insecticides, even how to set the blade height in my mower from proper cutting, to turf type, how the grass would grow there with an assorted group of pictures that help with the process. It made things so much easier when discovering I had three types of grass in my yard and I still continue to refer to it when a question arises.

Another major issue we had come up in revamping the lawn was watering and sprinkle systems and were referred to the book, Sprinklers and Watering Systems by Scotts. Scott's offers us a very detailed description of just about anything you can think of when it comes to installing your own sprinkler system. From planning your own blueprints for your yard shape to selecting sprinkler head types so that you get max coverage and the least amount of wasted water, it covered all those bases and even the ones in between. I was a totally new to the world of sprinkler installation when I read this, and it has made me feel 100% pro at being able to save my once again happy and redone yard so that we can once again enjoy the things it offers.

With the help of these books and many others myself and my family have never been happier and more proud of the lush green that was once a weedy, ant haven mess that was our lawns. Now days when everyone wants to be a do-it-yourselfer you are left with asking a lot of questions for all the new things that the world has come up with, three months ago I didn't know PVC tubing for sprinklers to Scott's fertilizer, or even the different pesticides, you have to be careful not all are safe if you have say cats or dogs. But now feeling like pro's we have reached happiness and are able to reach out and help others in the area with their own projects thanks to books like these.
