Lawrence O'Donnell. MSNBC's Own Hateful Loon!

As of late I have been watching MSNBC more often. As lefties claim they watch FOX for the comedic value, I too watch their go to network, MSNBC, for the very same reasons, as well as so I can get good and incensed at the vitriol spewed by MSNBC's own admitted socialist, Lawrence O'Donnell.

For the record I like Matthews much better then O'Donnell. Lawrence O'Donnell is one mean sumbitch. He raises serial rudeness to heretofore unseen levels. For example, "Queen of the Birthers" Orly Taitz was invited by O'Donnell to be on his program last night. O'Donnell was eager to ridicule her on TV for her "birther" positions. When Taitz does not give O'Donnell the answers he wants he screams "liar" at her and later screams "get out" meaning off his program.

O'Donnell set the tone before Taitz appeared on the screen by stating "she [Taitz] will now have the opportunity to rewrite three years of lies with a simple apology." Okay, assuming Obama's released "long form" birth certificate is legal, above board and factual, and I have no reason to believe it isn't, how do Taitz's questions relate to "lies?" Assuming the Obama birth certificate is legal and proper, that would prove Taitz was mistaken, misguided and perhaps other descriptors but that does not a "lie" make. A lie is a knowing misleading. Yet O'Donnell in his opening remarks called her a liar. Do TV news personalities do this? Clearly O'Donnell does. I don't even think that evil Glenn Beck is so rude and unbalanced to the guests with whom he disagrees.

O'Donnell continues the hateful tone with "There is no, no longer, not an inch of room for any sane doubt about the time and place of Barack Obama's birth...." O'Donnell continues, asking Taitz "Are you now ready to apologize for the crusade that you have mounted against those simple truths?" Before she speaks he calls her a liar, demands she apologize for her positions and questions her sanity.

Taitz then begins to mention Barack Obama's selective service certificate. O'Donnell gets mean, his face contorting, his tone becoming angry and short, and he refuses to let her talk at all. Now I know on all networks that heated political discussions are common place, but O'Donnell's manner transforms from any semblance of professional journalism to sheer anger, as if it's a personal issue between them. As if Taitz's position, as mistaken as it may be, should be allowed to be presented...after all O'Donnell himself claims he invited her onto his program.

She asks "Am I going to be allowed to speak?" and O'Donnell scream "No!" back at her. Taitz was trying to argue the selective service certificate she was holding up was germane to the birth certificate...how I do not know, but O'Donnell was not going to allow her to answer his questions unless she delivered a mea culpa that he found satisfactory. Maybe Taitz thinks selective service records show Obama was born elsewhere...I don't know, and O'Donnell was clearly not going allow her make whatever point she sought.

Taitz does get her shot in though...as O'Donnell is yelling at her and telling her she cannot present her point she responds with "Okay, so what it is, your program is nothing but Obama propaganda machine." And again O'Donnell insists Taitz give a definitive answer as to if she accepts the birth certificate released yesterday with "talk about the document that entered your life today [the long form birth certificate] and proved that you're a liar."

Taitz comes back at him asking him if he'll "behave like a human being." When O'Donnell cannot intimidate her with his yelling, calling her less than sane and a liar, he folds his hand with "Alright, that's it. Get her out of here. Get her off this show. Get out."

O'Donnell winds up his welcoming interview with a commentary... "Look, she's crazy. I invited a crazy person on the show to see if a crazy person faced with the thing that the crazy person was trying to get for two and a half years, could say something responsive, something human."

So if I get this, and based especially upon O'Donnell's commentary at the end, he questions her veracity, her sanity and her humanity. He calls her crazy repeatedly. Gee, isn't he guilty of doing to Taitz what he claims she was doing to Obama? Calling her a liar is the same as Taitz calling Obama a liar, no?

Lawrence O'Donnell is the poster boy for the quintessential loon often referred to generically as a "loony lefty." Well, at least when Beck is gone from Fox we'll still have O'Donnell spouting his conspiracy theories that the Tea Party and anyone who doesn't agree with him are hateful, less than sane racists, right? At worst O'Donnell will continue to be entertaining if nothing else, and indeed when it comes to him, there is truly "nothing else" but sheer hateful meanness.
