At La Ziz there are a variety of fresh and flavorful sandwiches and plates available. One of my best-loved Mediterranean comfort foods is falafel. It is ground up garbanzo and fava beans, flavored with parsley and spices. It is made into patties and then fried. At La Ziz, the Falafel Plate, which is vegetarian, is $7.49; it comes with three falafel patties, rice, and La Ziz special veggie mix-grill. My favorite extra side to indulge in is the hummus (pureed garbanzo beans flavored to perfection with olive oil, lemon juice, tahini, and garlic) with pita chips for $2.99. To finish, I always have a scrumptious square of baklava for dessert.
We have a lot of family favorites. My husband is a fan of the Stuffed Grape Leaves. For $3.99, you will get six of them. Another of his favorites is the Cabbage Roll for $1.99. His favorite lunch time sandwich is the Greek Gyro. The sandwich is $4.99; make it a meal for $6.99.
When I'm in the mood for something light and inexpensive, the Mediterranean Salad for $1.99 is a good bet. You can get a large salad for $4.99 and add chicken or beef for $1.50. The Veggie Combo plate for $7.49 is light and filling. It is a combination of stewed vegetables over rice. It is also served with three falafel patties.
For those of you unsure about a Mediterranean adventure, you can grab a Cheeseburger (1/3 freshly ground beef) for $4.99. Order the Combo for $6.99. The Combo Meal is served with a Mediterranean salad and drink.
This restaurant is relatively new to morning meals; but, if you want to try a traditional breakfast with a Mediterranean twist, start your day at La Ziz.
