Anyone who knows Lake Michigan knows that it is virtually impossible to take bad images. But still I want to be completely confident with my outdoor digital photographs. I take all my picture taking excursions seriously so it is a must to take along all essential accessories.
So what item have I found to make a difference in my raw image results? The LCD Viewer is available to provide not only the ability to see the on-board digital camera LCD viewer more clearly but it also magnifies the image x2. This magnification has grown important for those of you like me that need a little added boost. Of course, the LCD Viewer also works for anyone wanting additional clarity of their pre-snap image. The LCD Viewer has another added feature in that when an object is in focus it appears to shimmer which verifies that you are perfectly focused.
The LCD Viewer can be held over your LCD screen in a temporary mode or Velcro is provided if you want to more permanently attach the viewer. On brand of LCD Viewer I like is the Xtend-A-View Pro made by Photosolve. The Xtend-A-View Pro LCD Viewer comes in three sizes to ensure a fit for your LCD screen. While I admit that having an additional accessory bulks up my digital picture adventures, this one item (the LCD Viewer) would make it to my list of essentials definitely worthy of the size it may occupy.
No longer will you look at your LCD viewer screen and see nothing but glare. In fact it is kind of like gazing into a light box. It's just you and your image patiently waiting to integrate into that perfect replica of nature to show off to friends and family alike. Now, like in the culinary arts, your dish will only be as good as you are a cook, the same is true for a photograph being only as good as the photographer. The LCD Viewer does not offer magical powers but does provide you the ability to view your subject.
Having said this, the 'artist' must also make sure they have all the right equipment. You can take pictures without a LCD viewer, sometimes you may not see anything in your digital camera viewer, and take your chances. But for the minimal cost, if you're current trip is important to capture then you must have a LCD viewer.
The way I look at it, if you can't see what you are trying to capture how can you capture it?
