Exceptional leaders inspire people to give their best effort. It is not enough for a leader to be productive and a good time manager, although these skills are important and necessary. Leaders who can relate to people in such a way as to inspire them find that employees want to be involved and to make their finest contributions to the success of the organization.
Research shows that inspired people give their best effort, are more satisfied in their jobs, and are more innovative and productive resulting in increased profitability, efficiency and effectiveness. Are you a leader who inspires the best in others?
Tips for Leading to Win
1. Set clear agendas. Organizations run smoother, faster and better when everyone is on the same page. Make sure that expectations, goals and objectives are clearly communicated and understood by all involved. Ask yourself: Is my gameplan clearly defined, communicated and understood by my team?
2. Make timely decisions. Leaders are faced with a myriad of decisions every day. Many tough decisions must be made in pressure-packed situations. Weigh your options and choose a direction in a timely manner. Ask yourself: Do I make sound, timely decisions?
3. Be enthusiastic! Let your team know that you are enthusiastic about your work or cause, and also about your role as their leader. People will respond more openly to a person of passion and dedication. Ask yourself: Am I enthusiastic? Does it show?
