The DPS started the 2010 leaf collection schedule Nov. 1. It will continue for six weeks, with leaf collecting occurring in each area of Royal Oak at least twice during this time period. The schedule is posted at http://www.ci.royal-oak.mi.us/portal/departments/public-service/refuse/leaf-pickup.
Residents are reminded to park off the street when leaf collection is scheduled for their neighborhoods and to remember that leaves and other yard waste can no longer be put in plastic bags. Also, leaves must be ready for pick-up before the truck arrives, as workers will not wait while residents finish raking leaves.
