Fiddlesticks is a great League of Legends champion to play. He gives you access to some interesting abilities including AOE burst damage and minor crowd control. Because of the versatile nature of Fiddlesticks, many new League of Legends players have a hard time figuring out what to do with him. Fortunately, Fiddlesticks is a very adaptable champion.
Jungling
Fiddlesticks is categorized as a Jungler, meaning that he is well suited for running around in the spaces between lanes and killing off the monsters that live there. These monsters provide both gold and experience, but are tougher than your average lane minion. Using his Drain power, Fiddlesticks can usually stand toe to toe with the tougher monsters such as the blue and red golems by the time he hits level 7. If you are an advanced player with access to tons of runes and mastery points, then you will be able to take out these monsters even easier.
Jungling provides two benefits. First off, you are almost always the only one doing it on your team. This means that all the gold and experience that the monsters provide is yours alone. But it's not entirely selfish to jungle. Since you are in the jungle gaining your gold and experience, this leaves many more minions in the lanes for your teammates to pick up. The jungle is basically an additional lane and teams that exploit it properly can quickly build up an advantage.
Ganking
Fiddlesticks is a great League of Legends champion to play if you enjoy striking hard and fast from seemingly out of nowhere. His ultimate power, Crowstorm, allows you to teleport out of the grass or over walls and directly into the heart of the enemy forces where you will dish out tons of AOE damage. With careful placing, the enemy will never even known Fiddlesticks is in the area until he pops up right beside them and starts dishing out damage.
Crowstorm ganking works well with Fiddlesticks other abilities including Terrify and Dark Wind. Once you pop up into the middle of the enemy with Crowstorm, if they still have some health left over you can fear them away, silence them, and then Drain whatever health they may have. When timed properly, a quick strike from out of nowhere against an unprepared enemy champion can quickly earn you some kills.
Fiddlesticks Abilities
Like all other League of Legends champions, Fiddlesticks has 5 abilities.
- Dread - This is Fiddlesticks passive ability. It reduces the magic resistance of all nearby enemy champions by 10 points.
- Terrify - With this power, Fiddlesticks strikes fear into the heart of the target, causing them to flee in a random direction for up to 3 seconds when fully trained.
- Drain - Using Drain, Fiddlesticks can replenish his own health by using the health of the enemy. Drain shackles Fiddlesticks to and sucks their life force out of them, returning a portion of it to Fiddlesticks as health points. While using Drain, Fiddlesticks is channeling and can be interrupted by damage or if the enemy goes out of range.
- Dark Wind - League of Legends features a lot of powers that bounce from one target to another and Dark Wind is one of them. Fiddlesticks tosses a crow at the enemy and it will bounce from one to the next up to four times, damaging them and silencing them as well. Great for frustrating enemy casters like Dark Annie.
- Crowstorm - This is Fiddlesticks ultimate power and is one of the more impressive ones in the game. When cast, the player specifies a target area and then after 1.5 seconds is instantly teleported to that spot. Upon landing, a flock of crows surrounds Fiddlesticks for 5 seconds, dealing massive damage to anyone within range. Fiddlesticks is free to move around while surrounded by killer crows.
Conclusion
Fiddlesticks is a great League of Legends champion to play for people wanting to try out different aspects of the game and are looking for more of a fun experience. While Fiddlesticks is not as clearly defined in his role as other champions, this does not mean he is weak and in the hands of a skilled player he can dominate the field and frustrate enemy forces as good as any other champion in the game.
